My husband and I had received a letter from Loteria Primitiva, stating that we had won amoung 17 other individuals a share in lottery winnings at over $600,000.

The letter did not come certified. It was delivered thru normal 1st class mail delivery. It did not state that we COULD win-it stated that we have DEFINATELY won. Enclosed was a processing form that asked for our personal information, including date of birth, home phone number, and our bank account number, along with the routing number, and bank address.

We checked on-line to see if this company, Santa Lucia Security Company, S.A., with head-office in Rome, Italy was legitimate. As soon as we typed in Loteria Primitiva, 2 different Rip-Off and fraud reports came up on screen.

I did try to fax the processing form to the fax numbers listed, but had no response, or busy, and never got the fax thru successfully. We almost mailed the form in to Spain, leaving the bank information part blank, and chose the certified cheque option, but after reading the other rip-off reports, we realized that this was not legitimate.

If there is a way of persuing legal action for false representation, and fraudulent attempts, I would be interested in seeking legal representation, and would welcome any comments or suggestions, as we did make several phone calls to the over-seas number listed to talk to an individual regarding this notification we received, and therefore, if nothing else, I would like compensation for the costs incurred for the phone calls.

Wow, what a bunch of crooks! This is the 2nd letter of the sort I received, the first one I nearly fell for, and I took the cashier's check to the bank and asked what they thought! Then I proceeded to call and cuss the sender at the number provided daily, calling him a crook, and many other things not quite as nice. It didn't really accomplish much other than relieving the outrage and disgust I felt at the thought that someone would try to take my money, because it's actually taking food off of my table for my children! Is there anything to be done about this?

We looked it up on the internet and found out it was a fraud. We were smart enough not to send our personal banking information. We made several long distance phone calls and tried to fax them our information to see if we won out share of the money. Since it turned out to be a scam and there is no money and we spent money finding this out, is there any way we can get compensation? God bless 'em.
