T, There are several extensive threads here on this site explaining how they operate, and how to deal with them, as well as some very good consumer advocate/complaint sites. Also go to the FTC.gov website and read and print out the FCRA and the FDCPA. While on that site, file complaints online against LBN for the harrassment. Ignore everything but a summons from LBN. They file frivolous lawsuits and just hope for the default. That is thier game. Change your phone number to an unlisted one, and/or send the CEASE COMMUNICATION request as per your rights under the FDCPA.

You can do this for free if you call your phone co and say you are getting threatening or obscene calls from an unknown caller. Or you can send the CEASE COMMUNICATION letter as described in several other posts here on Rip Off report. Statute of limitations on credit card accounts in OK is 3 years, but there is some precedent for them being treated as written contracts which is 5 years. LBN are junk debt buyers and represent primarily JDB's. They have to prove you owe THEM the money. In Ok the max garnishment is 25% of earnings, but you can get that reduced with a hardship case. You have to take a means test. They have to allow for your basic needs, which meand they normally get nothing. If you don't own property or anything, they lose.
