Lowes rebate ripoff Butler Pennsylvania
Lowes seems to have a habit of not sending Rebates. We purchased a Chamberlain garage door opener last year, and after 4 months contacted them about a free opener we were supposed to receive. Surprise, they didn't get any in, so just ignored the fact that we purchased that opener from them, just to get the additional opener. After contacting them 4 more times, they finally sent me a store credit for $25.00.
We purchased a Makita Drill that was supposed to have a $50.00 rebate at Christmas time, here it is the end of May, and still no rebate. I just remembered about this one and will contact them today.
We also purchased 10 rolls of Owens Corning insulation last fall and was supposed to receive a $50.00 rebate, still haven't gotten it. After contacting them the beginning of April, low and behold, they haven't received the cancelled check back, so they said "it must have gotten lost in the mail"...gimme a break! They would reissue the check in 6 - 8 weeks. That was the beginning of April, and again, here it is the end of May...no check.
I think these rebates are just a scam that should be investigated as fraud. Think of how many people forget they even sent them in. If you don't keep hounding them, they'll "forget" to send the check every time, or it will get "lost in the mail". I have yet to receive a check on time, without having to contact them about not receiving it!!!
