I took my car to the MAACO franchise in my home town of Frederick MD I didnt opt for the $249 special they advertise because like the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I paid just under $2,000 for them to paint my car and needless to say the car looked better before they touched it then it does now. Within a year after they painted it the clearcoat started flaking off like nail polish you can clearly see sanding marks under the paint and most of my emblems are loose where they didnt reattach them correctly. I dont think the shop I went to is still a MAACO franchise, probably due to numerous complaints, but last I checked they are still operating under a new name most likely they are just an independant shop now but anyone in the Frederick,Maryalnd area do yourself a favor and stay away from them, you would be better off using the money spent having MAACO do the work as toilet paper then to pay them a dime.

In response to the rebuttal about the repairs you received. I myself run a direct repair shop for a major insurance company. I have managed Maaco stores in the past. It does sound like a lack of communication. The paint on the tires is from not covering the tires properly with wheel covers prior to painting. But to do all of the repairs you mentioned and paint the entire car for $780.00 was in fact a cheap price. We charge a starting price of $5000.00 just to paint an entire car. That does not include any body work.
People fail to realize the true operating costs of a shop as well as the costs of materials, parts, and labor to do the correct repair. Maaco charges way less but they do not disassemble trim parts and handles the way a pro shop does unless you choose the insurance method which they do in fact offer. You sound like the typical customer wanting everything for nothing. That's a two thousand dollar repair all day long and that's just to spot repair from the looks of your pictures. Blowing up on people will get you no where. If Maaco was not around, you would still have a wrecked car because you didn't have the money to fix it right in the first place.
So be glad that you got all that you did for what you were charged. Dirt specs are an imperfection from repair in the paint finish. It would require what is known as color sand and buff after repairs had been made. Something most pro shops know happens in the paint process and is taken care of during final clean up. It is not offered in a $249.00 paint service. You people crack me up when you make complaints about someone trying to save you some money. That's what Maaco is all about. Just don't expect top of the line when you don't get charged for it. That's like paying Motel 6 rates for a luxury motel room. Not happening.

Did you ever hear the old saying "you get what you pay for"? This is a perfect example. Why not just have insurance?
It would have been done right.
Anyone who would even consider painting a car without fixing the body damage is a total moron. Why would you even waste your money? And, if you pay close attention to the MAACO ad, the operative word is "from". From $249.
The $249 is actually if you do all of the prep and repairs yourself. All they do is paint for $249.
They don't even prime your whole car before painting! They only prime repairs they actually do.They use the green scrub pads to "sand" your car and then they wipe it down with a tack cloth and blast it with paint. They hire anyone to paint cars at MAACO. I knew someone fresh out of prison with no painting experience.Hired!
By the looks of your car, it appears that it wasn't worth $780! Maybe you should go back to the third grade and get some basic English grammar skills, and some education so you can get a better job, and a better car, and some insurance!
