Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Following up on the constant strain of trying to stay far from spamvertisers, I decided to do the stupid and ask a company why they were e-mailing me and what exactly were they selling. Three days later, a telemarketer called me and said i was picked as being one of the most proficient and successful companies and I was going to be featured in Madisons whos who For $807.00.

Talk about selling a product based on ego alone! Need proof?

(((Redacted)))

After several phone calls, i asked the lady from this company "Have you ever used a who's who to shop?"

She was stumped, so I went for the kill. Immediately i asked her. "I heard that this was a scam, could you verify it isn't?" She slammed the phone down so hard, i heard the phone jump off. she then picked up the phone and re-slammed it.

People, PLEASE....Ask yourself. Do you need to be in a who's who to have a successful business? Should it cost hundreds? Look into these things, and if they call,...

JUST SAY NO.

It's Extremely Unprofessional for Your Staff to Hang Up on ANYONE! That's a Clear Indication, of a Company with Something to Hide!

Don't make this person (justiceisserved) feel that they would not be worthy of recognition in their field, simply because they had questioned the validity of your service, and have stated their experience with your company in this forum. They have every right to do so. Based on all the negative reviews, from people who have been solicited by your company, one would certainly question your business. Professional and legitimate company's not only would NEVER hang up on someone, but would never come back, in a forum of this nature, with a vengeful response. People that work in the service industry, are normally properly trained to handle ANY type of response from their prospects. And if the person were to ask if it's a scam operation, if you don't have anything to hide, then your employee would not have needed to hang up so rudely and abruptly, but would have tried to calm the person down, explaining why it's not true, and discuss the benefits your company has to offer. And, if you are NOT a SCAM, then why ALL the NAME CHANGES? If you ARE a legitimate company, why would you need to change your name every few years. Madison Who's Who, Cambridge Who's Who, Empire Who's Who, etc, etc. From a previous employee of Who's Whos' report, they have confirmed, it is a way for your organization to avoid being prosecuted. That is typical, of what most fraudulent companies do. You make people feel that they are important and special, and that there is an actual review process, to determine if they are chosen for your publication. Who have you actually turned down. Doubtful anyone, as that would mean you've turned down making more money for your company. I think it's deceptive, to make people feel this is a real honor, and that they are being chosen, based on their accomplishments. When the truth is, they are only randomly sent letters, and your telemarketing staff follows up on those letters, and are trained to convince them, that they have received some type of special recognition for their efforts. After the whole 'so called' review process, you then lay the big bomb on them, how much it will cost. I've read some reports here, where letters have been sent for example, from KGLA Publications-Who's Who Among Outstanding Middle School Students, to a particular student. And the parent, doesn't understand why they are receiving a letter for their child, when that child had passed away. Many of the business Who's Who letters have gone to people who are not even working. So these are general solicitation letters, and THAT is obvious. Your mention of the cost for a copy of the Yellow Pages is irrelevant. The Yellow Pages for the most part is absolutely FREE. It's possible they may charge, if you call for an additional copy, had you lost you're original. But I don't know for sure there would be a charge, I'm just stating, it would be understandable for a second copy. I've dealt with rip off companies before, and unfortunately for you, you fit the M/O. If you are truly a reputable company, you would not be writing nasty responses to anyone, but would be stating the truth, and standing behind your company. Typically arrogant responses, and hanging up in a prospects ear, gives strong reason for suspicion. You are the one that needs to be more professional. The idea is to gain trust not immediately give people cause for doubt.

This is absolute non-sense pure defamation and inuendo This is like saying no I never heard the band, No I never saw the band but there no good! Give me a break did Who's Who ever claim to help you go shopping that is obsurd! This is not the Yellow Pages! If you want to go shopping call your local phone company and request a copy of the yellow pages and guess what they will charge to deliver a copy of there publication! This is a publication designed for The World's Elite decision makers! It is quite apparent this is not who you are that is why the woman slammed the phone on you because she is use to dealing with professionals who are more concerned about there ROI than going shopping. This is Who's Who it is a household term used everyday You hear it in songs on commercials it is unfortunate that everyone can not appear in the publication. Let us face the truth you are not in the top Five Percentile otherwise you would have agreed to purchasing a mebership and the directory to improve who you associate yourself with and who you do business with! This is a 20 million dollar company that emplys close to 100 people who work very hard to interview the thousands of applicants that apply every year. These people publish the directory year after year and those who can not afford to a part tend to take it personal and it is not if you can not afford it simply say no the director will gladly include in the publication for the basic listing. There is no need to go and slander people who are actually working and making an honest living providing a real quality product all because you do not understand the concept or can not afford to take advantage of your appearance. This would be like me running around to my neighbors and slandering another neighbor because he just bought a new Mercedes and mine is 5 years old. To state this is a rip off is completly untrue. If you credit card was charged it was only because you authorized the charge that's how they got your information you gave it to them. The best to do business over the phone is to call the 800 number on the back of your credit card after you make the purchase and inform your credit card company that you are authorising a one time charge the amount you agreed upon by the company you are doing business with then you may have personal satisfaction and rest assured that is the only charge you will recieve. That is just good business sense. Yours Truly, Hard Working Man!
