Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We were solicited by MainStreet Host for Search Engine Optimization which they claimed they offer. The cost to us was $1,000 for initial optimization and $100 maintenance. In hindsight I should have listened to my inner voice screaming at me to "not do it", but I fell for their lines.

They scour the net for businesses, figure out how to reach you and proceed to badger you to give them a try. We already had pretty good rankings in Google, but they assured up higher placement.

The problem began after they charged the $1,000 to my card. For a month nothing was done and were weren't communicated with. Finally we get an email stating that there were customers ahead of us, but that they would get to us someday. Here's what I think they are doing. You only have between 60-90 days to dispute a charge on your card, depending on your bank, if you miss the window you are out your money and you can't do a d**n thing to them. They kept putting us off and it dawned on me that they were pushing us out to miss the dispute window. Well we have filed a dispute against them and are proceeding to go after them. For the money we spent we got absolutely nothing.

If you try to email them they will call you and want to "discuss" things with you, but try to get them to put anything in writing. As of this writing they have not returned any of our phone calls, have not acknowledged our cancellation and refuse to answer our emails.

Check out the numerous complaints about them in other forums and with the New York BBB where they have an unsatisfactory rating.

A good rule of thumb is if an SEO company calls and solicits you...RUN!!!!!

Why US and Not Mainstreet

I work for an SEO company. We pride ourselves in providing results that we promise. We have a long list of references that we are more than happy to share. All of our clients have received exactly what we told them we would do. Everything from building a new website, to key word research and placement. We are far less expensive than other SEO companies. However, we guarantee our services. My most recent client, just left MainStreet Host for us and couldn't be happier with our service.

I'll take the time to ensure you good quality and keep you informed as the SEO process develops. I don't just work for my clients, I befriend them.

WHILE HEARTMARMING Mr. Brian H.

You are the one who screwed me out of 7500.00 dollars.

Toni this Brian works for Mainstreet and is the one I spoke to about helping me with my website. 7500.00 Dollars later and they did nothing they promised.

Brian is out of the New York office.

He is trying to screw you again So do Not fall for it.

I think Mainstreet promises everyone the 1st page in search engine results.

I was lied too and fell pretty stupid. He was very persistant and aggressive.

I will never trust another SEO.

Brian is his first name and heart something is his last name.

WOW  the nerve... I hope you never called him...

Toni, I just read your report and I am sorry to hear that you have been cheated out of your money. It's a shame that many companies will do things like this, but it does happen, as you experienced first hand. If you are still looking for an excellent company, with many promising testimonials and the most important to myself, a BBB rating of A+, please feel free to contact me. We have plans for companies big and small alike. take care, Brian [email protected] www.seoexperts.com

You may be able to get your money back. I did.

I agreed to pay Main Street Host $29.85 to get some limited SEO services. When I received it, I felt it had no value. I contacted them through their web site contact form asking for my money back. There was no response. I had paid using Paypal, so I opened a dispute through Paypal asking for my money back. In about 10 days my account was credited for the full amount. I suggest anyone else do the same.

First of all we would like to know the company name of the person who filed a report against us. This information would be helpful, so we could research the account and respond with very specific answers. Mainstreet Host has strict guidelines for contacting the client after the service has been purchased. We call and send emails and hope for them to be returned by the client. If they are not returned, we consistently try to make contact. To say we only give you a 60-90 window to dispute a charge is absurd. You have one full year to dispute payment with the credit card company if you are dissatisfied. A client's personal bank may have other standards. We have a full service Customer Service Department that is easily accessible. We even have a prompt on our phone system to reach them directly. Confirmations of account cancellation are sent via email upon request.
