I have ordered oil, butters, fragrance oils and beauty supplies from Majestic Mountain Sage for several years and not had an issue. HOWEVER - this was because I had not had an issue with a product until now. I recently ordered $200 worth of oils from them. The lb of emu oil, which is quite expensive, was like water. I have ordered lbs and lbs of emu over the years - from MMS and others. I've been making candles and body care for 13 years. I KNOW what emu oil looks like, how it performs in different temperatures and how it feels in my products.
This last batch of lotion, I noticed it wasn't as rich and one of my customers even made a comment. I figured it must be the emu oil because it looked so different. So I ordered some from Swanson's and it arrived thick, white and creamy the way emu should be when the weather is cold.
I made another batch of lotion using the swanson emu oil and it felt the way it had for years. So I contacted MMS and they refused to allow me to return the oil. I even sent them pictures of the oil from an old bottle I bought from them and some from the new bottle. As a business person, I know the customer is always right and would rather refund for a product and keep the customer than keep the sale and lose that customer forever.The woman I spoke to on the phone today was condescending and talked to me like a was a confused child - which is frustrating. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
I no longer trust their oils. I believe my emu oil was either allowed to settle and they poured the top watery portion in my bottle or they diluted it. Either way, I deserve a refund of $72 for the lb of oil, which doesn't even include the bottles of lotion sitting on the shelf that I refuse to sell because they are not up to my standard because of the inferior oil.
I had seen the negative reviews for Majestic Mountain Sage on this site before and should have taken note. Their customer service is horrible.
