This last post is not by Mr Benjamin. I know the language that Mr Manchanda uses. This is obviously him marketing himself as an immigration "specialist". Its a good joke, but only he can laugh at such a pathetic attempt to repair the damage he has done by mistreating his clients. Mr Manchanda is the biggest scumbag I have met in my entire life as an adult, period. It would be hard for any lawyer to beat what this guy has done to us. Recently, I served as a jury on an immigration-related jury-duty (federal). I saw some very competent lawyers from both sides - the government and the client. It opened the wounds again and reminded me how pathetic/clueless/incompetent Mr Manchanda was in the way he went about my case. Fine, he can do H1-B visas, but those even a layman can do. Those cases do not require the finest brains and definitely not at the pricetag that he puts on such cases.

Your state's bar associaton likely has a fee arbitration program. I would recommend loking into it and taking advantage of it if there is one. Lawyers are bound by an ethical duty that their fees be reasonable. There are a number of factors that go into determining whether a given fee is reasonable and, from your report, it looks like a few of them are in your favor (i.e. the attorney's level of experience in the given field, the amount of work involved, the fee customarily charged for similar services, etc.). Another option would be to hire another lawyer and go for a legal malpractice suit. Best regards!
