Marcel Home Decor Marcelo Gonzalez Purchased Items two years ago via Web - Never received! Contacted The BBB - Got Blown Off florida
Approximately two years ago, I purchased two Decorative Wall Plaques from Marcel Home Decor's website. The plaques never arrived, and each time I contacted the company I was given a different date for the expected date of delivery. Finally, after about one year, I decided that I'd just ask for my money back. I spoke to Marcelo Gonzalez and was told that a check would be issued.
After waiting for about one month, I called back and asked for the status of payment and was told that the check was sent pretty much the day I asked for it. I asked to have a check re-issued. This is when I knew things were shady. He hem hawed around and we finally hung up, my being unsure as to what he even said he'd do. I sent an email asking for the money, giving him a reasonable amount of time to get it to me. I mentioned that if I did not receive my money back in a certain time frame that I would contact the Better Business Bureau.
No response. Nevertheless, I waited for the said amount of time and then filed a claim through the BBB. Eventually the BBB stated that the vendor agreed to settle by giving me a small fraction of what he owed me. I stated that this was not acceptable and the BBB simply closed my case.
I'm interested in protecting other people from getting ripped off by this company and am surprised to even see the website still up and running.
My order number was 0804 and I'm surprised I still have this info as the rest of my documentation I discarded, chucking it all up to being a lost cause.
