NCA Technologies Group, a small minority-owned company, contacted CEO Arne Sorenson by email in 2013, offering the concept of virtual reality in their hotel rooms. Marriott hotels failed to respond and in typical big business vs. the small company style, they used the idea and partnered with Samsung/Oculus group to do so. NCA contacted Mr. Sorenson appealing to him, as to why such a decision was made. Marriott's attorney responded by saying, "their was no law against taking an idea without a confidential document in place."
As karma would have it, the Samsung products now place all hotels at risk for fire. personal injury and physical harm. Imagine your eyes catch fire while watching Samsung VR or falling asleep and waking up to a burning hotel room. NCA products are manufactured in Hong Kong and not South Korea. The Samsung/Oculus company and Marriott must not contend with the risk of liability and potential for blindness if the product is used. They are currently banned by a plethora of airlines and retail stores. NCA is the safe alternative to the Christmas shopper and hotel chains seeking the VR experience.
