In December of 2008 I hired an oral surgeon to graft bone from my lower jaw to my upper gums, and place two dental implants in for me. (the k9 and the lateral). The total cost was $10,000. He did the bone graft, and we waited a few of months for the bone to heal. During this time the pain was immeasurable and never went away even 2 months after surgery. After months of waiting, I was still in pain. The Dr. told me quote not to worry and that I was ready for implants. I felt unsure about this because I could see there was just not enough bone there. I could see this with my own eyes. Additionally there was bone protruding from my gums which was extremely painful. The bone was left protruding from my gums for months. The doctor told me the bone would flake off and to simply take Tylenol pm at night to help me sleep. The constant and steady pain was there even months after the surgery. I could not eat solid food for months because of the pain. Unfortunately I am not a surgeon, and I sought out the professional opinion of another maxillofacial surgeon in Manhattan. He informed me that the bone that was grafted was grossly inadequate, and would not be able to hold the implants for more than 6 months, in addition the gum line would look unnatural because of the failed bone graft. The doctor also told me that the technique used on -laying bone was prone to failing because the gums would easily tare open. I went back to my First Dr. provided this information, and he actually acknowledged this , he also told me he would fix it but that I needed to pay the balance of $2,070 for anesthesia fees. I was flabbergasted because the initial payment of $10,000 was supposed to cover all costs including anesthesiologist's fees. The contract clearly stated this! I asked for a copy of the contract and the office secretary told me "oh that was deleted a long time ago." Why would they delete an official dated contract with my signature on it. I have proof of full payment of $10,000 on my credit card and I am pursuing litigation at this point. I paid the first dentist $10,000 in full, he did not complete a bone graft and he did not put implants in, which he was paid for! On top of everything he tried to extort more money out of me, for "anesthesiologist fees" which were already paid for as per contract! The worst part out of all this was not the breach of contract but the unnecessary pain caused by the protruding bone, I was on a steady diet of vicodin from December of 2008 to April 2009. Essentially, I had to hire a new surgeon and go through the entire procedure all over again. ( Cost $10,700) Note to Attorney: The new surgeon is willing to testify under oath in court with proof of X-rays and full testimony on my behalf. I am trying to recover fees for the initial procedure , interest incurred on my credit card as well as the unnecessary pain and suffering I endured for months because of the surgery done incorrectly as clearly stated by other respected Maxillofacial surgeons in Manhattan.

George Anastassov Will never show you our original contract
I realized I was going to have serious problems with George Anastassov of Maxillofacial surgery services very ealy on. The first Real red flag was when Dina Mastoras told me the surgery went a little bit longer than expected and I needed more anasthesia, So the total cost is now $2,070. instead of $1,070. Now in my head i'm like ok that doesn't affect me because they both told me anasthesia fees were included in the total price of $10,000. No where in the contract or papers that I signed does Dr Anastassov mention any fees for anasthesia. I have the original contract, email me at (((ROR redacted))) and I will provide original contract! So anyway once I heard of this I flipped out, and I was like Dina?? "What are you talking about right now" (Dina is the office secretary) and she was like "NO NO anasthesia fees are always separate". and to make matters worse it wasn't $1,070 that I owed it was $2,070!!! Double anesthesia price because he ran into complications he wasn't able to foresee. I went home absolutely furious. I decided to let cooler heads prevail I did not want to have a confrontation with his secretary. I really wanted to speak to DR. Anastassov himself about this matter, so I went back to his office on the next appointment I had with him and I asked dina to speak to Dr. Anastassov. He was in his office or in another room somewhere in the back. So I coudn't just walk back there. anyway, she comes back out and tells me, "John it is best you email him your questions and concerns". I did not understand what the big deal was to just speak to him about the situation right then and there. I was coming from Queens into Manhattan and it was about an hour subway and bus ride away. But she insisted "Just email, him its easier" I gave them the benefit of the doubt, since then I have emailed Dr George Anastassov over a dozen times in about a 1 year period, he has yet to respond to anyone of my emails! NOW DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A GUILTY RAT OR WHAT?! His ideology is hire an attorney if you have the money and sue me.Thats his outlook, its unfortunate because the judicial system is set up in a way to reward those who can afford an attorney. I may have to spend $15,000 in attorneys fees and HAVE A JUDGE ONLY award ME $10,000. So I really am caught between a rock and a hardplace. Being able to afford an attorney and not being able to, really has no bearing on who is REALLY right and who is wrong. I may have to amend my case and file in a different court. your story is amazing. i have searched for other complainta about dr. anastassov, and cant find any. wow, after so many years of practicing in such a complicated medical field you one would find some other dissatisfied patients.
personnally, i think you are trying to scam him. its amazing the number of posts you have filed, i guess you dont have anything else to do.
i was a patient and continue to be a patient of dr. anastassov. when i could no longer pay for his services he told me he will do them and not charge me.and i am talking about a lot of money he put up for me.
no one asked me to write this, nor did anyone even tell me about your posts.
thank you dr. anastassov for saving my life

It is unfortunate that this person has resorted to extortion and cyber bullying as a cover-up for his legal problems. He is in dual litigation at this time and has refused to pay for services that have been rendered to him with the utmost expertise void of failure.

Dear Dina, when I first was shopping around for a surgeon, the things that I took into consideration were skill and credentials of the surgeon that was to perform the procedure as well as the total cost. You acted as the middle man between me and Dr. Anastassov when it came to finances, and so we had many conversations. After a couple of consultations and x rays with Dr. Anastassov you had quoted me a total price of $10,000 which I thought was a lot. Not because I thought Anastassov was over charging me but because I don't earn that much money, so yes it was a lot to me. I remember trying to negotiate the price, because I'm Greek its in my blood to negotiate. Anyway you went back to Mr Anastassov and discussed a better price but he wouldn't budge. You came back out to your desk from his office and said quote "John the total cost will be $10,000 from, soup to nuts" and I of course said "anesthesiologist fees included"?? and you said "Yes anesthesiologist fees included!!!" Well this meant everything to me because $10,000 was a hell of a load for me as it was. I went ahead and asked Dr. Anastassov and he chuckled and said "yes john, anesthesiologist fees included". Now lets fast forward a few months after the surgery You said john you know you have to pay the balance for the anesthesia fees it will be $2,070 because the surgery was longer than expected. I can't tell you how betrayed I felt. I couldn't believe you did that to me, Remember I freaked out in your office. I felt like one of my own, stabbed me in the back. I was stabbed in the back, not by a big mean looking guy, but from a little elder Greek woman with a sweet face. I trusted you Dina, and I completely let my guard down. I guess everything happens for a reason. Even now after all this happened I don't even blame you, You are a woman who has bills to pay and are loyal to your boss who has bills of his own but it doesn't make it right. God is big and God is great. FYI the rippoffreoport about me was created 5 years ago because I hired someone to build a website about magicians because I was practicing magic at the time, I paypale him a few hundred and he went mia on me, so I Obtained an attorney through the texas bar association and he finally completed it but he wrote a few articles about me and I about him. I don't think this makes me a scam artist. i'm just someone that defended themselves

Unfortunately, we are not able to judge Mr Mavroidis from allegations of others not pertaining to this case. False allegations can be made at the drop of a hat nowadays, so this is something that we do not get into. We are not taking sides with either party or making false allegations against Maxillofacial Surgery services of NYC. We have reviewed several documents and contracts between Mr Mavroidis and Maxillofacial Services, what we find particularly troubling is that Mr Mavroidis did pay the full amount of $10,000 which was charged to his credit card on !0/16/08. For whatever reason the bone graft failed,and implants were not placed. We have an official contract from Maxillofacial Surgery Services stating the total cost to be $10,000.
As mediators, our question is why wasn't his money refunded? We don't think this is a dental malpractice case, but rather a serious breach of contract case. We are awaiting a few additional documents from Mr Mavroidis. If Mr. Mavroidis's claims are in fact fully substantiated this case will get featured. We always encourage to keep communication lines open between both parties as many times disputes are resolved before having to deal with a messy litigation. Rip off report was designed for consumers who have been ripped off and do not have the funds to seek an attorney. I Hope I have answered all of your questions.

After going to the rip off reports related to the complainer John Mavroidis and the history of his scams in Texas and Alabama he must be mentally deficient to do it again. I guess as they say.. all good and bad things come in threes and here is number three for him. I wonder who will be number four unless the law catches up with him first.

I had bone grafts 5 years ago by a Periodontist and have had no problems since - In fact my teeth have gotten better (I paid $5700)
I tend to agree with the rebuttal report - seems like you are looking for a payout

The author of the Ripoff report is John Mavroidis, 49-51 Fresh Meadow Lane, Flushing, New York 11351, tel: 718-775-4678. His rip off report and "nightmare story" are false allegations by an individual who is a scam artist. His propensity for ripping off individuals also includes threatening them. Documentation of this can be found in Ripoff Report #334059 from Texas and #465141 from Alabama. He does not have an attorney and is being sued himself. It is truly unfortunate that individuals such as John Mavroidis are allowed to disseminate false material/accusations on the web without any proof or consequences for this type of action. Rip0ff Report is doing an injustice to the public and innocent victims who are preyed upon by scam artists like John Mavroidis by abetting these criminals. Once again, the allegations cited by this individual are false and anyone reading it should be aware of the dubious and unethical history of John Mavroidis.
