Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We have noted that Gordon Group / AmericanFone, LLC has a partnership with MCI WorldCom, as reported on americanfone.com. So, we decided to solicite the assistance of MCI WorldCom in resolving this growing problem. I learned from my contacts inside MCI that Scott Sullivan, President/CEO of MCI WorldCom was travelling by air on 6/12/02 and was scheduled to land at 6:20 pm EST, but he was delayed at take off, so he wasn't to land until about 6:45 pm. He had his cell phone with him, but he refused to take my call to discuss this ripoff and their partnership with the big ripoff company, Gordon Group. I am still working at trying to contact him.

You may wish to call Scott to get his assistance in getting your money back. His office phone number is (601) 460-5600, and FAX number is (601) 974-8350, but be prepared to be stalled by the secretary, because this is not the only trouble that MCI is facing; they are also under investigation by the SEC (see the story below). If that happens, you may want to note his cell phone (561) 350-0649.

Please let us know if you are able to resolve your issues, especially if you get money refunded. According to reports, some people are being forced to jump through the customer service hoops, but are getting refunds. If you encounter any problems, we would like to know that also. We may have some good ideas for you.

For instance, we can provide additional contact data to resolve this matter. You may wish to contact Mark Cohen, Chief Marketing Officer via e-mail also at: [email protected]

WorldCom cuts workforce by 6%

(SEC investigates accounting practices)

By George A. Chidi Jr., IDG News Service

April 03, 2002

WorldCom Inc. announced a 6% cut in its U.S. workforce today, eliminating 3,700 positions from its data services division.

The carrier made the cuts to better align its costs with its expectations of revenue growth in the mid-single digits, the company said in a release.

Jobs in WorldCom's long-suffering long-distance unit remain unaffected by the cut at WorldCom Group, the company's Internet backbone and business data services division. In February, WorldCom said long-distance revenue has deteriorated steadily due to stiff competition, a weak economy and users substituting wireless and digital communications for long-distance calls.

WorldCom pared 9,000 workers last year in an attempt to deal with the economic downturn. The company has 61,700 employees.

So far this year, the telecommunications industry has announced 85,222 job cuts, according to Chicago-based outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc. (see story). Bankrupt carrier Global Crossing Holdings Ltd. in Hamilton, Bermuda, has cut 9,000 from its staff this year, and last month, New York-based Verizon Communications announced a reduction of 10,000 jobs for the year.

The Securities and Exchange Commission began an investigation into WorldCom's corporate accounting practices, the company confirmed last month.

You don't have to call the president of MCI.

You don't have to call the president of MCI to have a refund processed by AmericanFone. If you call us during business hours, we'll look at the account. If there is no usage on the card, we'll process a refund. Period. Our Toll Free Customer Care line is (800) 352-4340. We are open Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time. If there's a problem, call us and we'll handle it. We sell our calling cards through other telephone and web-based sales companies. These companies will offer one of our calling cards free to use for 30 days, after which charges are processed if the calling card is not canceled. ALL SALES CALLS ARE RECORDED, and NO customer's information is sent over to us unless we have the customer RECORDED ACCEPTING THE CALLING CARD. We are an honest company. We do not charge anything if the customer cancels the calling card within the 30 day agreement period. Even if the customer contacts us AFTER the 30 days (if they haven't used the calling card) we will STILL give them a full refund, even though we are not legally required to do so. And we will even process refunds as far back as SIX MONTHS. Understandably, AmericanFone will not take responsibility if a customer hasn't examined his or her own credit card statements for more than 6 months.

SEC gutting Signal to Businesses to Rape America

#3Consumer Suggestion

Fri, November 15, 2002

The Bush Administration plans on cancelling the "new funding" allocated by Congress. Bush and his Administration are well known for their pro-business (screw people any way you can) policy.

There are more former CEOs in this administration than any previous administration. Eventhough, as reported in The New Yorker, Almost none of the CEOs on the Bush team headed competitive, entrepreneurial businesses, you can expect a quid pro quo attitude of a policy of crony capitalism," where who one might know can get many reciprocal backs scratched.

Who is the big loser? The American Consumer is, in this ubiquitous "rich get richer" economic free-for-all that has just been given license to escalate.

The recent resignation of SEC Chairman Harvey Pitt, signals to the business community that the US economy is free pickin's for the proliferation of unethical business practices. Another signal to consumers will be who the President selects as our head business watchdog. Keep your ears to the ground. So as the holiday season approaches, more than anytime in the past 30 years... BUYERS MUST BEWARE!!!
