Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I signed on with WorldCom Wireless in March 2001. At the time I signed a contract that stipulated that I would have no roaming charges/free long distance. I would also have a free phone, would be mailed a phone charger for my car, and would have free voice mail, call forwarding, caller ID service, conference calling, and call waiting. Thank god I kept the contract. The company never sent a bill. I began trying to contact them in April and couldn't even find a number to call. To make a long story short, I have talked umpteen documented times to a variety of customer service reps who told me that the bill was being sent "next week" and next week turned out to be SEPTEMBER.

During my many calls to customer service, I repeatedly expressed my concern that I would go over my 200 anytime minutes. I asked if my account could be looked at and if there were some way, short of getting a bill, that I could find out this information. There was none. Nor was there a bill.

When I finally got the bill, it was wildly confusing in that some bills were sent and you were told to ignore them, only pay attention to the LAST of 3 bills sent. In any case, sure enough, I was charged for Long Distance calls and I had gone over my 200 anytime minute limit and was totally gouged for that. Trying to get someone to help me has been a nightmare. My phone service was cut off when I refused to pay what they said I owed them. When I called to get this straight, I was told they would clear off the long distance charges if I would fax a copy of the contract(they apparently couldn't or wouldn't get it themselves).

I faxed them asking them to acknowledge that this had been taken care of. No phone service two days later. When I inquired, no one knew about the fax. They check I had sent had not been credited to my bill. I paid on my American Express and was told they would turn the phone back on. Nada. At 5PM i called again, was told I wouldn't be having the phone cut back on since the bill was in dispute, and that I would have to FAX THEM A COPY OF MY CONTRACT.

When I finally got a surly supervisor, he told me I would have to pay more money to get it back on and that I could not be given the street address of WorldCom Wireless in Scottsdale Arizona. Thomas Barton is the man to contact, but you can't send him a registered letter since the only address they will give you is a P. O. Box.

They will also not give you a phone number to call either. I am totally frustrated that my credit is being likely ruined and I am being charged each month and I have apparently no recourse. How does one go up against MCI? I would heartily suggest that anyone considering signing up with MCI WorldCom Wireless shy away. They cannot service the accounts, they do not bill properly or promptly, and the customer has no recourse short of being run into the ground.

I suspect that they are using runaround tactics to avoid having to deal with the many disgruntled customers. I guess they figure that if they keep us down long enough, we will just quit and pay the bill.
