Mel Lieberman - Decorators Model Homes, Inc. Theft - Fraud - Big Rip-Off Arlington Heights Illinois
Purchased a LaPrada Bedroom Set in June, 2006 from Mel Lieberman on
E-Bay. Cost approximately $5000.00. Furniture was to be shipped in 8-10 weeks. In August received a call from Mel saying he needed another $700.00 for freight.
Had new carrier and freight was more. This was paid to a Jason More.
All payments were through PayPal (whose Fraud Protection along with Washington Mutual's is a JOKE). To make a very long story short, furniture was promised in August, September, October, November, December, etc. Never received.
Reasons for non-delivery, trouble with manufacturer, trouble with carrier, was on truck had to be taken off due to overload, etc.
In March, 2007, I requested full refund of purchase price. Received a call one call from Mel in March promising resolution by first week of April, 2007. That did not happen. Since April, I have placed 68 calls and sent 25 e-mails. Never a reply to any phone or e-mail messages.
Finally, in May filed charges with Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, Internet Better Business Bureau, IC and Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Protection Department. This guy needs to be behind bars and his wife too. I am willing to go, at my expense, to Chicago and testify if it means putting this guy behind bars for a very, very long time.
