I purchased 2 5 gallon bottles of Menehune water at home depot in Aiea. When I got them home and place one of them on my water dispenser I noticed that there was nasty slimy looking stuff in the bottle. It looked like spit or (pardon the description) male ejaculant. I called Menehune and the first person told me that it was normal for the water to look like that and not to worry about it.

Now I have been buying this water for over 2 years and it never looked like that. I asked to speak to his manager and the manager told me to wash the dispenser with bleach and to go buy another bottle. I asked if this is always how they handle contaminated water claims. I had to mention a lawsuit to get them to do anything. they said they would pick up my unit and cleanit for me and give me a loaner unit. I said ok and the next day someone came to pick up my unit and left me a loaner water chiller and 2 new bottles of water. I thought this was a fair resolution to the problem.

4 days later they called me and said my new unit was ready, we tried to set up a time for the exchange, the person on the phone got mad when I told him I couldn't be at home at the 1 o'clock time he wanted to deliver. I left work early to be there for him. he came into my house and removed the bottle from the top of the rental unit and slammed the partialy full bottle on top of my washing machine.

I told him to be careful and to stop, and he said to me "if you had just handled this yourself you wouldn't have this problem." He then set up my unit (the one they cleaned) and proceded to slam a full bottle into the top of it.

My water chiller does not chill water now. I called the main office and they refered me to their lawyers office. I thought that I had worked it out with the lawyer. I explained the situation and he agreed that this person should not be acting like this in peoples homes. And offered to replace my water chiller at their expense. He proceded to tell me someone from Menehune would be contacting me to set up a time to deliver my new water chiller.

Here it is almost 2 weeks later and i have heard nothing, furthermore I cannot get ahold of anyone at Menehune that can answer any of my questions.

I kept 1 gallon of the contaminated water and I am waiting for test results back from the lab. I closing I personally believe they should have at least been concerned about contaminated water with their company name on the side of the bottle. Water companies have been sued for less. I hope for my sake and theirs that the lab results come back with nothing harmful.
