Meridian Ford don't waste your time!! Meridian Idaho
I went to Meridian Ford to look for my first car. I had been to other places and did not find anything I liked. Upon arrival, I had noticed a red pontiac sunfire. While I did the test drive everything seemed to check out okay but it was hard to tell with the salesman talking in my ear and hurrying me through the test drive. Once the papers were signed, while leaving the lot the headlights did not work but I was told by the salesman that they would get it in as soon as possible and to bring it by when it was convenient for me.
When I brought it in to get fixed, I was told it would be covered by my warranty and that they would take care of it. A week and a half later I went to pick up my car and the headlights worked fine for a few hours.
I then called them the next day to let them know that they were still not working, they advised me that the warranty only covered minimal repairs and that if I wanted for it to be fixed right, I would have to take it to an electrical specialist which they would not cover.
Once taken to the electrical specialist, they advised me that all the wiring would have to be re-done and it would cost $500.00 and referred me back to the dealership to have it covered, because it should have been covered by the extended warranty I had purchased. I spoke to the dealership again the next week and they informed me that they could not fix it and the warranty was only good through them.
They then told me that they would take the car back and get me a different one, when I went back the next day to look at other cars they refused their previous offer for an exchange. When I spoke to the general manager he said all exchanges would have to be approved through him and he did not know who would have guaranteed me that offer.
After a month of fighting back and forth to get them to take the car back the salesperson who sold the car to me and made the deal was fired for doing the same to another customer.
The ironic thing is...on their lot in the used car area there is a sign stating all of our cars go through a 30 point inspection before they ever make it to the lot. When pointed out to the general manager he stated that only fords go through the inspection. So I ended up out a bunch of money and I had no car to show for it!!! Go somewhere else!!
