My Nextcard was transfered to Merrick Bank last year and not the interest rate. When I got my first statement from Merrick my interest rate shot up to 27%. When I contacted Merrick they sent me a letter that the reason was my current credit load. Not bad credit, but the number of accounts that I had. This was there reason for the high rate. Howerver they had sense then raised credit limit for a good payment history but had not lowered the interest rate. If there is a class action law suite against Merrick Bank I would like to be a part of it.
