Meyers Vanlines the worst moving experience and display of unprofessionalism ever Northridge California
Meyers van lines doubled my quote from $3700.00 to $6400.00. On the day of my move, they first loaded my apartment into the trailer and then hit me with this new total. While they were at my apartment, they helped themselves to food and drinks from my refrigerator without asking and left the apartment trashed. They charged me $1500.00 extra for additional packing that the company failed to include in their quote. When my furniture arrived at the destination, the damage was so bad that the independent contractor's driver that transported my belongings from San Diego to Houston stated that he would never do business with Meyers again. He informed me that he picked the furniture up in this condition from Meyers' storage facility, which by the way is nothing more than old tractor trailers in the desert.
Just a few items to illustrate the severity of the damage: Broken 72in HD TV, broken $4,000 Brunswick pool table (mainframe), smashed solid marble coffee table, crushed TV stand, scratched leather chair (the result from not being wrapped / covered), 2 broken book shelves, 2 broken lamps, etc., etc. This is just a partial list, I have yet to open any boxes. This company is currently refusing to return any of my phone calls and ignores any of my attempts to make a claim. I would advise steering clear of this business at any and all costs. Not only am I out $6400.00, but now the costs of replacing / repairing my furniture are additional out of pocket expenses this company is costing me.
