Mge-usa, Buy.com Failed to honor return and refund as promised Aliso Viejo California
I bought a XG-Box ACFA-Subzero-K7 AMD socket 462 CPU cooler fan from buy.com.
There were two $19 rebates, one of them requred sending in the "original serial number" which does not exist anywhere.
I tried to reach the rebate company through the only conatct info-an email address numoerous times since I received the item (daily), but never got a single reply.
Since the form says incomplete documents will disqualify the rebate, I did not dare to send it in.
I contacted buy.com, the seller, also daily for over 20 times, asking to help get hold og the rebate company or let me return it. But all I got was the the case has been escalated and will get back to me. I mentioned that the dealine for rebate filing was nearing, they did not seem to care. I finally talked to a supervisor (Anika (spelling?) on 6/1 who claimed that she would be able to handle in speedily due to her status., and promised to get an approval for the return and full refund, including the return shipping. However, 20 days later, nothing happened. further emails got the same "excalated" answers.
I am holding buy.com responsible for selling products with improper rebate offers, and failed to help resolve the issue in time and keep the promise for a full refund.
I have ben a very loyal customer for years with buy.com with whom I do most of my online shopping. They used to have a good policy to quickly resolve rebate problems by paying them. Since last year, they have been selling products from dubious companies and the customer services are much less helpful (due to outsourcing to India?). The problems have caused agonies.
