Michael Woods, Maria McCarthy, and Brenda Fawcett Dejardins Financial Group, Compass Games LLC , M&I Bank Sent me a fake check saying I had won 250,000 With a Bunch of bogus addresses from MN to Canada Rip Off for Compass Games LLC Check Scam Emporia, Virginia
August 2009 I received a letter in the mail and a check stating I needed to contact by phone or mail to Dejardins Financial Group on 5500 Bay Street in Niagra Falls. The attorneys name on the paperwork said I needed to contact Michael Woods or Maria McCarthy which now I know that name has been used in previous scams. The paper said that I had won a sweepstakes I never entered from Kohls, Walmart, Kmart, and Home Depot. WoW! did not know they gave away checks for that. When I removed the check from the envelope I noticed the check had left ink marks on the paper it was in clue one. Next Hint was Compass Games LLC which is supposed to be located in MN was really a Rug Store once i looked it up. M&I Bank really exists but I am quite sure they have never heard of Dejardins Financial Group. Dejardins Financial Group really exist as a company not sure Michael or Maria works there though. The bogus phone number was blocked. The gmail account really gave it away if you are a financial group why would you need a gmail account. The price of the check was 3800.00 I have contact numbers for all the places listed on this paper I am going to follow up on them and contact my local Better Business Bureau. The email that was listed on this account was [email protected]. And to top it off Brenda Fawcett was the president on this letter not surprised at all her name had been used before also in a scam previously.
