Michelin North America Michelin Tire Michelin Tire Explodes and They Ignore Claim Greenville, SC Nationwide
Michelin LT245/75R18 tire exploded while driving on the interstate. Four year old E rated tire with 24,000 miles. Tire caused $3,900 damage to vehicle. Four remaining Michelin tires (including spare that had never been on the road) cracking after four years and had to be replaced.
Michelin claims the exploded tire struck something with sufficient force to puncture the inner liner and will not pay a penny to the repair vehicle. The tire was never taken off road, the tire pressure was checked 60 miles prior to explosion and the tire had never stuck anything!
