Micron Filtration Technologies, Inc There is the Defender & the Filter Queen Vacuum We bought a very expensive vacuum after being told we will get all of our filters free & for the rest of our lives & whomever gets the vacuum after us. Along with any repairs that need to be done will be free as well. Vancouver Washington
When we were watching this presentation, we knew we would get something after watching him. Randy said he wasn’t going to be able to get 1, because we don’t have that kind of money. As he was coming to the end(thank God) we both agreed that he did a wonderful job. We both are on social security. We are both disabled, I told him that I wouldn’t even want to get it because it’s easier to use the 1piece vacuum. I have tooo much pain, clumsy. He then made sure that we knew that we would’ have to buy anything else for it. That in 6 months, we will get some more filters. Well, we didn’t get them we decided to just wait to see if they come. We bought the machine in May of 2017; we never got any filters & we never got a call when the 2nd year started.
Of which we were told. I finally called because we needed the filters, & then someone will come by to make sure everything is running smooth. I told them about the air purifier, & how the red light has been blinking. We were never even told anything about filters for the air purifier until the guy told us. We were also never told about The buying filters to make the warranty last for a year. I want to find a lawyer for the whole con of this company!!!!!! I have heard though that we can never return it, we will always have to pay it. Just like when I called 10 days after time we bought it, being told this then as well. That was from the company who paid the vacuum off, so we are paying them. I just feel angry, helpless, conned, pissed off & so much more!!!!!

If Governor Inslee was the law and order Governor he claims to be, he would put operations like this out of business in the State of Washington for good when this was posted.
Since 2003, Ripoff Report started reporting on the ethical behavior of Filter Queen, Filterqueen, Healthmoor, and thier independent offices starting with operations in the Puget Sound area. While there are similar companies (competitors such as Rainbow and Kirby) that sell cleaning products (through door to door sales) that may have similar practices over the years, the gap in time seems to indicate that these postings over the years have put this particular company running in a more responsible manner.
Over the years, these posts have touched base on the definition of an independent contractor and how independent dealers haven't followed the law telling them where to go for sales calls, cleaning up the office, and other tactics without getting paid a minimum wage. Searching through all the various entities of this company will show up a great deal of material with plenty of references as well. It was a great project for a business law class I took when I was in college.
I know of someone who worked for Filter Queen when it was a respectible company as well. It was one of the reason why I didn't have a problem working for them at first but as time went on, the honest way of doing business as a sales representative was thrown out the window when the company delisted themsleves from the stock market in 2001 after an invesigation was underway.
One thing I never talked about was that during my tenure as an independent contractor, the presentation I was trained to do was to let the customer know that Filterqueen is responsible for cleaning the air of hospitals since they started the company 90 years (that may seem to be a selling point for what is happening with Covid-19).
Even their own website doesn't post anything like that. Perhaps another lie from the independent owner days.
It is a good product and spendy, but it you really want it, use their website to get a new one or Ebay to get a used one (you can find them very affordable on Ebay but shipping can be expensive). They do last forever.
If you need one, don't sign up for one with a high interest loans. Get it through your bank or credit union.
This website has been pretty thorough about the product, the company, and it's unethical business practices of the past for almost 20 years. I hope that these threads have helped others to stay away from unethical employment practices, high pressure sales tactics, misrepresentation, and letting door to door sales reps come into your home without a backgroud check.
