That vehicle is long gone. I've moved on from this nightmare months ago. Two vehicles ago to be exact. Funny, i've had no issues with other dealers. Been quite pleasant actually. The shame of this whole thing is the lack of action from the DOJ, FTC, and BBB. They serve nothing even close to consumer relation. All it took was the same lies that Miles recycled over and over (see above), to get them to ignore this tragedy. And for the record, the problems began long before the whole "funds" issue Miles keeps clinging to. I placed a stop payment on the down payment due to a lack of a lender. A lender that should've been in place long before i pulled the funds out of the equation. Any idle threats Miles claims to have made, had no weight in my decision to "make good" on the funds. It's hard to return your only transportation when your trade-in is magically "gone". Hey Kip, why didn't Jerry give back the Neon when i asked for it? It was parked right out back by the carwash. But he said it was "sold" didn't he? It wasn't sold at that time. Tell the truth now ;-) Anyway, i could go on and on, but it's obviously a waste of time. It boils down to this. How can one consumer finance over eight vehicles in his thirty years of life, flawlessly. Then suddenly this ONE goes bad? Like i said before folks, do your homework before approaching an auto dealer. We truly live in a world where it's "caveat emptor".

Enclosed is a copy of the letter sent to the Oregon DOJ regarding this customers official complaint. Please see my closing comments at the bottom. February 23, 2004 Department of Justice Civil Enforcement Division 1162 Court St. NE Salem, OR 97310 To Whom It May Concern: In response to the above mentioned consumer complaint filed by CUSTOMER I am writing this letter to Miles CJD's actions. 1. Chrysler Credit would not fund the contract as written on December 18. 2. Household Finance initially agreed to fund contract if stipulations were met by customer; the stipulations were not met. 3. After much negotiation, Chrysler Credit agreed to fund the contract as long as the first payment was collected upfront from Mr. CUSTOMER. 4. 2 weeks after the final contract was signed and sent to Chrysler Credit Mr. CUSTOMER came to the dealership and tried to unwind the deal' because he had gotten some bad news'. His trade-in had been sold wholesale. 5. Not long after that Mr. CUSTOMER put a stop payment' on his down payment check due to the funds that were there aren't now' due to his other car breaking down (not the vehicle purchased from Miles). 6. Only after threatening Mr. CUSTOMER with the maximum legal procedures to collect on the check did Mr. CUSTOMER agree to make good on it (and write this letter). In closing I would like to state that it is Miles CJD's position that no wrong-doing or mistreatment took place in this transaction. I am sorry Mr. Sullivan feels that Miles CJD treated him un-fairly; however the point of the matter is Mr. CUSTOMER has no grounds to state otherwise. Thank you for taking the time to review this matter. Sincerely, Kip Miles Dealer Principal Miles Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge Closing Comments: It is obvious this customer's name has been deleted in this letter to protect his privacy. If the BBB, DOJ and his own attorney do not find Miles CJD guilty of any wrong-doing than what else is there for him to do but appeal to the 'court of slander and ridicule'. I am sorry that this customer fails to take accountability for his actions, both past and present, and chooses to hurt others in order to somehow justify his actions. I personally welcome any inquiries regarding this or any other questions regarding Miles CJD.
