Like everyone else's report about this company on this website, I was scammed by MVI. I went to a vacation timeshare presentation, mailed in my $100, and was told that none of the dates I requested were available.
I mailed in new requested dates and 4 months later...still no reply. So here is what I did.
I found their website at http://www.minivacations.com/ and called the phone number listed. 813 - 621 - 1400. I asked to speak to someone about getting my refund for the promised trip that I have never recevied.
I was transferred to a customer service rep who looked up my certificate number and verified it. I asked for a refund of the $100. She verified my address and said that it would be sent within 2 to 3 weeks.
Hopefully, I will receive the refund as promised around the end of January.

NOTE: Rip-off Report launched a complete investigation on this particular situation and found that Mini Vacations had no control over promises another company makes when marketing their vacation coupons. Even though Mini Vacations is not responsible for another company's actions, they have been giving FULL refunds to anyone who has contacted them, and has even given more than they should have in the name of good customer service

Update -
I did exactly as I said I would do in my original post.... I called and specifically asked for the person who could refund my money because of MVI's apparent inability to provide my vacation.
I was firm but polite. They looked up my certificate number and told me I would get a refund in about 2 weeks.
I nearly fell over when I actually got the refund in less than 2 weeks.
