I bought a 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander from Mitsubishi 112. My car payment was supposed to be $299.47; when I received my first loan installment bill my payment was $342.89. The dealership tacked on a $2500.00 WARRANTECH warranty without my knowledge. They told me that the registration and plate fees were going to be included in the price of the car. FYI after appearing in small claims court and having the judge laugh in my face I found out that that is totally illegal in NY State (I guess I should have known that). I was told that the car I was buying was certified pre-owned which means in addition to the two year manufactures warranty that was left on the vehicle I also had a 5 year 60,000 mile warranty on the power train (engine and transmission) making this additional warranty completely useless because this warranty ran concurrent with the two warranties I already had. When I called the dealership to have warranty removed and my contract rewritten I was told amongst some other choice words to go ****myself and hung up on. Because I was unable to settle this in small claims court I am filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney's General Office and the DMV. I was also contacted by a woman who found my case with small claims court and contacted me because she too had an incident withe Mitsubishi 112 and a WARRANTECH warranty. We are looking for anyone who is willing to come forward and file complaints against this dealership so we can file formal FREUD charges against them. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this dealership.

You claim that you were unaware of the warranty but you also stated it was in the contract. You agreed to the terms of the contract therefore you agreed to the terms of the warranty.

Freud was an Austrian neurologist.

You Didn't Know, Right?

How did you NOT KNOW a warranty was added?  You later stated you asked them to rewrite the contract, which they refused.  The warranty would have been a line item in the contract!  It and the $2500 charge would have been listed there!  Oh yes...you didn't even bother to READ the contract BEFORE you signed it, did you?  Who is the last point of defense to prevent fraud/deception in a car deal?  Its Y-O-U the customer.  They did this to you because they have years of experience doing it before because they know far too many people will do exactly as you did...simply sign the papers without reading what you are signing.  Should they have been honest?  Of course!  However...YOU should have used COMMON SENSE and READ what you were agreeing to, before you agreed to it!
