Mitsubishi Motors Co. ripoff engine under warranty goes bad why wont they pay? Marietta Georgia .....

i purchased a 2001 mitsubishi montero sport xls in october of 2000. two weeks ago i had to pay to have it towed to the dealer 2 hours away from my city. the diagnosis? it needs a new engine?

the warranty wont cover it because they say the only reason it could possibly have gone bad was my neglect? i dont think so. my oil was changed every 2800-3200 miles. i kept record of every oil filter/ oil brand ever used the catch? myhusband changed the oil instead of a dealership.

my husband is trained to do so. and we kept impeccable record of it. they want me to pay 8,800.00 for a new engine. i'll sue them first. there is absolutely no way i'll losse all the money i have in my car nor will i add another 10,000. to it.

Edwards, if you have the records present them to the District Parts and Service Manager. He calls on the dealer monthly and has the authority to make the repairs. Keep in mind that you MUST have records of maintanence for him to consider. I wish you well. Kasey, you purchased an extended service contract seperate from the manufacturers warranty. Your complaint is with this insurace company, not Mitsubishi. Corporate has no say so in what is or what is not covered by an independant company. Good luck.

I purchased the extended warrenty, and had to pay extra for a paint and leather warrenty, because it was already on the car when I bought it in Indianapolis, IN. My Montero Sport, purchased in Oct. 2002, has been in the shop non-stop from week one of ownership. They will not fix the problem beacuse it costs too much and the warrenty is almost up. Now that I live in St. Louis, the Mitsubishi dealer here has never heard of a paint and leather warrenty and no one will fix what I paid over $900 extra for. The warrenty is a joke. The corporate office won't help. You are on your own with this company.
