You said you purchased the cigarettes by going into the store. Why would you buy the wrong brand? Why would you leave the store with them instead of asking the clerk for the correct brand at the time? I don't smoke, but I understand that cig's can go stale, or as the manager said, you could have tampered with the package once you left the store. I think they were just protecting themselves from you "exchanging" stale or tampered cigarettes for fresh ones. Not saying you did so, just that this doesn't ring up as a true rip off. Very unclear, here

How a regular smoker could buy cigerattes, not check to make sure they were indeed the correct ones right there, and then go back a half hour later and expect to exchange them. Both of you were right there on the premises at the time of purchase-if they indeed were incorrect, one of you could have gone right back in the store immediately. I wouldn't have exchanged them either as they stated-they don't know if they were tampered with or not. The store is then ultimately responsible should something happen to another purchaser of that pack of smokes.
