Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I just wanted to let you know I have had an absolutely terrible experience with Monster Scooter Parts.  I recently placed an order for a Razor 6 Wire Throttle & Controller Bundle for my Razor Ground Force Go Kart.   It was item X98-0745.   According to your website this item is used on my kart (I have version 12).   My kart has the older 4 wire throttle and this kit is advertised as a 6 wire replacement to the older 4 wire kit.    After waiting a couple of weeks the kit showed up at my door step.  I was very excited to finally get the parts and get my son's kart back in service.   I was able to quickly remove the old controller and throttle assembly.

I then proceeded to connect the new kit to my kart.  All the connectors seemed to be there and things were going smoothly until I came to the last connector.  It was a different style than the original and was obviously not compatible with the existing harness.   Additionally there were 2 red wires with female spade connectors that are on the 6 wire kit that the original 4 wire controller did not have.   Where do these go?  There are no instructions.  The next day I called Monster Scooter Parts and was connected with Chaison (didn't get last name).

I told Chaison about my experience and he said, "well, you might have to cut off the connector on the controller to make it work."   He then said "or you could just return the kit to us."   What?  How could this be right?   I am supposed to cut off the connector and just make it work??  I was puzzled by this response and decided to investigate further.   A few days later I contacted Razor directly and spoke with one of their Technical Support members.    The technician advised the 6 wire kit I had purchased from Monster was absolutely, positively not compatible with my kart.

The tech informed me the throttle and controller I needed was the discontinued 4 wire unit.   They said they no longer offered this part and I would need to look elsewhere to source it.   At this point I was very frustrated.   I thought my kart would just have to be tossed!   I was frustrated and said goodbye.   However to my surprise I received a call back from Razor a few minutes later and they told me they had located the very last 4 wire controller in their warehouse.   They are shipping me the part today and I should have it later this week.  Wow!  I am happy again.

Today I called Monster Scooter Parts and was again connected to Chaison.  I explained the situation to him and explained that Razor said the 6 wire kit would definitely not work for me.   I asked for an RMA and based upon the infomation I received from Razor, I also requested to be refunded my original shipping charges.  Chaison said "that was not going to happen".  He said the part IS compatible and that Razor doesn't know what they are talking about.   He said there would be a 10% restocking fee and that I would have to eat the shipping costs that I had paid originally and that I would be responsible for shipping the part back to Monster.  I again explained to Chaison that I spoke with the mfg directly and they informed me this kit would definitely not work.

He said Razor just said that because they want to sell me parts.  He seemed to take great pleasure in arguing with me about the compatability issue.  He said "it's very easy to wire.  If you can't do it you should take it to an electrician."   He used what i would consider to be a very condescending tone.  I asked to speak with his supervisor and at first he said he didn't have one, but then later recanted and said he didn't have a supervisor that would speak with me.   I asked for his supervisors name and he said he wasn't able to give that information to me.  I asked for his last name and he again said he wasn't obligated to give me that information either.  All the while laughing and using a condescending tone.   I have never been spoken to so rudely.

I am writing to tell you of my terrible experience with Monster Scooter Parts and my aweful experience with Chaison.  I have 5 children and we own several Razor products (3 electric scooters, Vapor Scooter, MX500, MX650 and Ground Force Kart).   Obviously I need a good company to support me with good products and excellent service.  I will never do business with Monster Scooter Parts again.  I would never refer anyone to your store either.  I know I am just a tiny fraction of your business and this letter probabaly doesn't mean anything at all to you but I felt very compelled to write and tell you about my experience.
