Found this site online and ordered a new controller for an electric scooter. Was shipped an obviously used part instead of the new one they said they would supply. Upon receiving I immediately contacted them and requested that they give me the neccessary information to return.

Monster Scooter Parts notified me that it was not their policy to sell used parts. Also they responded that they do not accept returns on controllers. The part they sent me was scratched severly from use, and had tape debris from someone having taped it to his scooter. This part was definetly a used part. I responded that they must have some tracking system to confirm the part they sent me was indeed new. They do not have any way to confirm this. The part i ordered is tamper-proof and cannot be taken apart and parts removed to fix the old part. This isn't about the money but it is about deceptive practices by this company.

Who knows if they sell used parts. I wouldn't doubt that they do. I am shocked they bothered to respond to you. They don't seem to usually care too much about how screwed up or incompetent or crooked they are.

Used parts, I don't know. But I do know from personal experience:

1. you can research the entire internet, and find out what parts you need,

2. you can then go to MonsterScooterParts.com and order those parts, and their website will even verify that the parts will work with your product,

3. but then Monster Scooter Parts will have their incompetent employees change your order to parts that don't work with your product,

4. and they will send you different parts from what you ordered,

5. and the parts won't work, because they are for a different model of product than yours (that's why you didn't order those parts in the first place),

6. they will then blame you for the incompatible parts because you didn't consult with them before ordering the parts, even though you used their website's tool which requires you to enter your model number to ensure the parts are compatible, and even though they changed your order without asking and then shipped parts you didn't order, even after you contacted them when you saw they changed your order to the wrong parts)

7. they will refuse to provide return shipping for the incompatible parts, even though they are the morons who sent the wrong parts.

That's what I know about monstermoronpar----  ooops, monsterscooterparts.com

We do not sell used parts

I am sorry to hear about the issue you had with a controller that we shipped you. As the owner of the company, I stand by the assertion that we do not sell used parts. We receive all parts brand new from the factory. We do sometimes receive controllers from the manufacturer that may appear to have minor cosmetic damage, but this does not affect the performance of the internal workings of the controller. Unfortunately, the casings for scooter controllers are easily scratched and the manufacturing process often spits them out with minor cosmetic blemishes. We do not require a tracking system to confirm that our parts are new because 100% of our parts are new.

to the person originally posting this report:

i have ordered 2 controllers of the 6 pin type from monsterscooterparts.com(over the phone) and at first they did do the no returns line. however, after contacting currietech and confirming that the controllers were indeed defective(monster has to protect thier end ya know making sure you do not hook them up wrong) i called monster back up and got the owner, explained to him that the controllers are reputed for being defective and advised of the general business law of 30 days. after discussing the issue at hand and NOT GIVING THEM AN ATTITUDE AS THAT NEVER GETS FAR. the owner agreed to allow me a "special exception" to return the defective controllers as a credit to be applied twords the 5 pin controller/throttle combo packs.

the name of the game is this: you need to number one approach someone as a fellow human.

number two: you need to be armed with the facts and truths.

and third of all you need to take the consideration that if you were a company that sells parts NO LONGER MADE BY CURRIETECH SINCE 2006/2007 that there is no real way they can get refunded and what they do do to assist the situation is entirely a total dive on thier end and appreciate the fact.

try calling again this time be nice about it and you may get what you want. be persistant but courteous. force is not needed unless absolutely necessary. i got my satisfaction and that will attract me to them and be more apt to refer others to thier company.

please also pay mind that currietech is OUT OF THE 5 PIN CONTROLLERS UNTILL NOVEMBER 15TH due to a qc fail in china. may be sooner may be later but that is NOT monsters fault. they do order new parts just if they are NOS components expect cosmetic dings even if you get it from currietech you may get a scratch. you wont know they are there once installed.

i personally give monster scooter parts a double thumbs up for promptly and courteously remeding my situation.:)

Monster Scooter Parts does not sell used parts.

Monster Scooter Parts does not sell used parts. Often, electrical controllers arrive from the factory with scratches or residue on the outside of the casing from the manufacturing process. That does not indicate that it is a used part. Our policy of not accepting returns of electrical controllers is clearly posted on our website. We are in no way deceptive about this policy. It is displayed in plain site for customers to see prior to purchasing an electrical controller. We have no need for a "tracking system" as suggested by this individual to track that our parts are new because all of the parts we sell are new! And because we do not accept returns of electrical controllers, there is zero chance that a faulty returned unit could get mixed in with our new inventory (because we don't accept returns of controllers!). This individual's complaint does not state that this part did not work. This complaint is only of the cosmetic appearance of the part, which is typically installed in the battery compartment and never installed on a scooter in plain site. Therefore, the cosmetic appearance of this part has no effect on the overall appearance of the scooter.
