This site seems to be another place to post your resume, geared toward the entertainment industry. I looked at the site, read about the company, and kept running into the long, comprehensive entry form. No fees were apparent, so I filled out the form. I am looking for work, in this industry, I figured, here's another place to be seen.

Wrong. After taking the time(something of an hour) to carefully fill out this web form, with all manner of personal information, the very next page THEN annnounces that my resume will not be seen by anyone, unless I fork over $10 a month, or $60 for a year.

I am outraged. This is an unscrupulous practice. It is very poor etiquette at best, and at worst, it is information theft. I was expecting SOMETHING, in return for giving my life fricking history to these people, like, I think I was expecting them to POST my resume.

You all tell me, am I just a fool (I mean, tell me again), or should I have a right to expect better treatment than this? I hope they feel good about themselves, taking advantage of peoples inability to see whats behind "door number two," to turn a phrase.

A representative of this company called me yesterday, less than twenty four hours after I filed the initial report, and said that they would have to take legal action against me. She indicated that the home page of the site in question contains a link to an explanation of the fees(the link that I had overlooked is called "Subscription Rates"). She said something to the effect that it wasn't their fault that people don't read, or don't know how to read. Okay. I guess the fact that I was looking for an explanation or a link to "fees for service" or something to that effect, may have caused me to overlook the "subscription rates" button. Since I can't read, I must have become confused by the difference between buying a "SERVICE" and buying a "SUBSCRIPTION." I must have also gotten the wrong impression from the larger "FREE Registration" button nearby that was only intended for employers. I guess that would account for the fact that 1,863 employers are signed up. I retracted my statements off of my own website(due to the threat of legal action). Unfortunately, here I cannot retract my original statement, I can only update or rebutt. My speaking out about them--as evidenced by their quick response--must threaten their revenue stream from the legions of hopeful job seekers who stumble onto their website. I for one, would have found it helpful(and forthright) for the website to tell potential candidates on the Registration page that there is a fee for their "subscription" before they hit the send button. A simple statement, like, "This is not a free service", or "there is a fee for this service," would have been nice. So, what do you think? Is the consumer--in this type of case--being treated fairly or being taken advantage of? My advice is, trust no one on the internet. (And never ever speak out against those who have more power and money than you do--humble thyself, fellow consumer, and prostrate yourself before the powerful Corporate interests that seek to eat your lunch. If it makes you mad, keep it to yourself, lest you get in the way of the truck that is called Revenue Stream) So I retract everything I ever said about Music Jobs USA. I wish I had never heard of them. I humble myself before their awesome marketing power and beneath the revenue stream generating tool that is their website. I'm just jealous, because I wish I had no conscious when it came to relieving people of their ten dollar bills. My humble apologies. Carry on, and let the buyer beware.
