I attended a bridal expo in my home town on January 28, 2006. I was contacted by Simplicity Bridal aka Simplicity Gourmet on January 30th, to be informed that I had won a free 3 day 2 night all inclusive resort package of my choice. I was asked to bring my fiance along and identification to claim my prize. When we arrived at the local Marriott we were greeted by about 10 other couples who had also won. This should have been the first sign to turn away. We were duped into sitting for a 45 minute "no obligation" session to puchase $3000 lifetime cookware. We politely turned down the offer a took our free vacation voucher and left.

Later the same night I went online and registered our package on the website www.mailmethekit.com, our vacation registration information was promised to be mailed in 5 business days. The following day, I cancelled our previous honeymoon plans in order to get our deposit back. when % days had passed I started trying to contact MVI marketing (the company who was sponsoring the vacation). The only phone# I had for simplicity was still on my caller ID, I kept getting an error message saying the number was inactive. I coudn't anyone to answer neither of 6 phone numbers I had for MVI in tampa or sarasota. I finally got a voicemail to pick up for accounts payable department. i left a very detailed message, but no one returned my call.

Today, I found an article online that says MVI closed its doors as of Feb. 1, 2006. Only 2 days After I won the trip. no one from Simplicity Gourmet has attempted to contact myself or my fiance. I think Simplicity Gourmet owes us another tri, after all we won it!!! RIGHT!!!

James, I apologize that we have just now responded to your complaint but we do not frequent this site, but an employee ran across this complaint today and we wanted to issue a response to you. I would also like to apoliogize for any inconvience caused by MVI/Mini Vacations. First, we will give you a new trip immediately if you will contact our office at 866-832-7792 ext 1501. Katie is our customer service manager and she will assist you (if you call between June 19-June 23rd 2006-she is on vacation, but you can speak to Jenna or Kellee and they should be abale to assist you). Secondly, we were also harmed by MVI/Mini Vacations, they intentionlly stole several thousands of dollars from us within 24 hours of the closings of the business. We chose MVI/Mini with dilgenece to provide our marketing trip. At the time we chose to do business with them, they were the (according to them) the largest travel agant in Florida, they had been in business for over 20 years, and a very impressive list of clients, many fortune 500 multinational companies. We were astonished and shocked when the went out of business. We have replaced every gift we have become aware of andd will do the sam for you. Once again we apologize for this but we had no controlo over this issue and many thousand people not associated with our company (Individuals that had travle booked through them, other comapnies also utilizing their services and obvisouly their customers as well) was hurt by their lack of integrity. We look foreward to making this right. Sincerely
