EDITOR’S COMMENT(2/5/2021):  Ripoff Report strongly believes in the First Amendment, especially when consumers are truthfully warning other consumers about potential frauds, scams, rip-offs or the like by shady individuals or businesses.  Ripoff Report is by consumers, for consumers…and we want to keep it that way!  Unfortunately this Report was posted and, upon additional information, appears to have been primarily for the purpose of bullying or harassment.  In many instances Ripoff Report will reach out to the author of the Report to obtain further information.  In other instances, enough information is provided to Ripoff Report to warrant redactions without reaching out to the author.  Ripoff Report is working to combat tactics that are perceived to be cyberharassment, cyberstalking, cyberbullying and/or what is generally considered a “revenge post” as we do not condone such behavior.

NOW TO THE EDITORIALLY REDACTED POSTING(S):

 

I have a stock program with my online trade platform which gives me real time quotes but desired a more in-depth level 2 program. Subsequently, I went to (((REDACTED))) and found that in order to have level 2 I first had to purchase (((REDACTED))), a level one program similar to what I already had and then, pay an additional fee to have level 2 to go along with it. On 18 Jan 2018, I placed an order on the (((REDACTED))) website for a real-time stock price service and after some problems with passwords which took more than a day to rectify, I found that the level 2 I paid for did not work.

Rather than deal with this problem to fix it, two days later I was given a placebo in the form of how the support staff would only 'try' to get me a refund for me of a portion of their useless program as the level one could not be refunded as it was not their program. Their reply; "We checked your account and can see that you signed and Exchange Agreement and got (((REDACTED))) running. With this, the fee for (((REDACTED))) is non-refundable as this is a limitation imposed by the exchanges.

We will however request a refund for the main software package from our data provider and we will let you know once this is approved." As I already had a level one program prior to this exercise the only reason I purchased their level 1 program was to provide the base for their product to be added onto it. Without level 2 working it was totally useless to me and their unwillingness or inability to marry up the two programs made the entire purchase of both programs redundant. Their offer to refund only part of my money is unacceptable as nowhere in the agreement does it state that this is not their program and that the level 2 will not work with it.

On the contrary, they state; "*The level 1 or 2 Modules provide the ability to display level 1 or 2 data. Additional level 1 or 2 data subscriptions are required for each exchange or the service will be restricted to delayed data." I contend that their inability to provide functionality rendered my initial purchase obsolete. Since this fault in their program was not made public prior to purchase I view this as false advertising and feel wronged and that they refuse to provide a full refund of $1.580.

Thus, their inactions or faulty program has cost me $1,580 no matter how one looks at it and I requested a refund. Two days have passed since I've requested a refund and they treat me with legal action. Stay away from those crooks.
