I am in charge of AR for a large company, so I understand how non payments can affect the bottom line. I've dealt with dozens of collection agencies over the years, some did well others not so well. Right now I use 3 collection agencies and National Asset Management has consistently out performed the others over the past year. The best advice I can give you is to remember the clients you're dealing with. If these people paid, you would't be looking for a collection agency in the first place. I found out the industry average is only 17%, so if two people paid you'd be getting above average results. I sometimes don't see results for 12 months so you have to be patient. Just remember, collection agencies can only work within the law. Unfortunately, the law limits what they can do. If you send them unemployed people living on welfare where do you expect them to get the money from? I know it's frustrating, but you have to use common sense.
