National Home Buyers Alliance, aka NHBA or NHBA.com is doing business in Chamblee Tucker and claims to be headquartered out of Orverland Park, KS.  Although, most recently they have adopted the primary use of doing business on the web.  

The company solicted a $100. application fee and told me I qualifited for their assistance.  They then told me I needed to come up with $2500.00 and I would be placed with a real estate professional for finding a home.  Later I was advised (after coming up with the funds), I would need to work on my credit.  i realized quickly I had been ripped off and asked for my money back.

They would not return the funds at the local office in GA and gave me anumber in Overland Park, KS.  Someone named Stacey at ext 107 always answered the phone and claims they could help me but Mr. Lyons does not return money. I have been tryng to get my funds returned since 2002.

I am a single parent with two kids and I want my money plus any interest due from 2002.  When i wrote the governeor's office they explained I needed to find others who had been victimized.  Well it apppears to be a whole lot of us.  The FBI now has laws on the books for helping people who have ran schemes on citizens.

The company also mask themselves as a credit repair company, will offer to help you lease a home of your choice until you can buy it (I asked to lease and they told me I needed to find my own home...at the time I was living in an apartment).  They also state credit counselors would adviee you.   I was only assigned a Mr. JJN who took my money (months after many calls..I was told he no longer works there) and was referred to Stacy who is programmed to answer all questions with the same answer.

People looking for homes, please go and see real real estate professionals.  i qqualified for a bank loan with a creedible bank shortly after.  No money down and I paid closing cost.  I am still in my home today.  Even after telling NHBA this they stated contact them if I wanted them to refinance me.  I told then the purpose of my call is to get my money back

I want my money returned and I want the persons who are responsible for ripping off hard working people with scams to be prosecuted to the fullest of the law

Dear Yvette,

I have read your complaint and found several inconsistencies that should be addressed so that other consumers aren't misled by your fictional experience with NHBA.

Firstly, we have not adopted the practice of doing business primarily by the web; NHBA has added its initial application to our website to be printed and completed prior to a clients appointment in one of our local offices and we have added an upload feature for clients who would rather upload documents to their client representative instead of faxing or mailing but despite your claim we do not conduct any business via our website.

Secondly, prior to paying NHBA any money you met with a local representative who went through the program with you and explained the services we provide including the assistance with resolving your past credit additionally the fees for our services were outlined so that you would have an understanding as to what we would be doing for you and what it would cost before you ever decided to pay the $100 application fee.

Lastly, all clients who apply either receive a denial letter with a refund of the $100 application fee or they receive an acceptance letter letting them know we can help them buy a home and prior to purchasing certain steps will be accomplished.  A direct excerpt from your original letter is "Satisfy or establish written payment plans on collection accounts and or judgments"; all of this was fully made aware to you before you spent any additional money beyond the initial $100.

Your entire complaint is meritless, fact less and borderline slanderous.  I am sorry for your experience and would like to speak to you about a serious resolution to your problems.  My name is Scott and I can be reached at (913) 204-0760.
