I started working for National Home Trainers back in Feb. of 07 and everything was going well. I was given client leads, I had good communication with the staff, and I got my checks on time for the amount they were supposed to be.

Then things started going down hill. I filed for about 2 months of back pay because my computer had crashed and I couldnt email in my bi weekly payroll. So once my computer was up I filed for back pay. For months I was not getting the back pay checks, yet I was still in communication with the staff and I was receiving my regular checks so I did not suspect anything was wrong...just delayed.

Then all of a sudden after 2 months of attempting to get my back pay, my regular paychecks bounced. I got notices from my bank saying that the checks bounced and I was charged finance fees.

Around this same time I stopped getting my regular checks, and communication was becoming less and less frequent with the NHT staff. Like a good employee I kept training my clients and sending in my payroll. And I was even assured that I would be paid, and that the entire payroll dept. had been fired for this fiasco.

To their credit, I did receive one of the two bounced paychecks again with the addition of the finance charge, and I received another check which was supposed to be the lump sum of my back pay, current pay checks, and the other bounced check and charges. However, I received a check for about $400, when I was owed a grand total of around $1000.

Since I was still receiving some money, although unorganized and not the correct amount I figured that they were just working out the kinks and that I would be paid eventually. But again, regular checks stopped coming and emails were not returned. I continued to train my client.

As of yesterday I went to the website, and in its place was a message saying that the company is now out of business due to being cheated by trainers and clients....I found this amusing that it was the trainers and clients fault.

And the last sentence stated that current clients and trainers would be contacted.

I have not been contacted as of now, and when I call the office it has a "employees are out of the office for the holidays" message. I am currently owed around $600 in back pay, bounced paychecks, current pay and bank charges.
