As far as OPEIU local 277, I'm glad that you recieved information on them. If you know how to look up unions throughout the country you would have been able to Google them. I will tell you that I had a grievance and it was followed up on. OPEIU 277 is not just for American & National income. There are many other companys in the local. As far as getting back to you maybe you didn't follow up or follow the right procedures for a complaint. You may have never been in a union before, I have and there are steps to be taken in any grievance including any State.
As far as getting on the phone with the president, well thats not very intelligent if you thought you could without a basic complaint. The company has only 1,800 employees and the union has 8,000 members I don't believe you could get a president of any company to get on the phone with you without doing some basic work on your part. As far as a scam I will tell you that they followed up with me very ifficiently and clearded up my problem as per my union contract. If you don't have one you don't need the president it usually comes to you from the unon with a union card.
If you don't have either of those then your not in a union. The company or area that I work for was up front on my opportunity and what was expected. Not everyone makes it because it is hard work. If you did not then move on whats the scam? Better than sighning up all your friends and family as some comapanies push you towards. And I also get leads when I need them, but I produce.
If you can't make money for any company why would they keep pouring resources into you? Many of you should move onto banks etc. that don't require you to be a self starter. Now this is my experience in NYC so it might be different where you are we have leads here and you get them in the beggining no matter what, but yes after a couple of months if you don't work or can't make it happen they will slow down, but here they help you get another job with a letter of recomendation. If this is not what you experienced then get another job and move on. You can make a 6 figure income here but it's not for everyone.

There is supposed to be a president of a local 277 AFL-CIO by the Name of Becky Turner from Fort Worth, TX that covers the whole country but does not respond to grievances. Lets see how she responds to court orders. The theives and liars take your union dues and it stops there, check for a phone number or address on your so-called Local 277 union card. There is more than one way to skin a cat, or a rat for that matter.

I was told another current employee filed several grievances about a month ago and they have been ignored to date, the fax number is 817-246-2940 and he was told that Becky L. Turner President (and union sister) had received the grievances and would be responding shortly. That never happened. She has not been able to be reached by phone yet at 817-246-4981.This union is affiliated with Southwestern Education Conference- Texas State AFL-CIO - Tarrant, McLennan and Dallas Central Labor Councils, looking for information on them now.
If you find any please share. Try 641 N. Cherry Lane Fort Worth Texas 76108- 1815. Phone 817 246 4981 and good luck seeing what they will do for your union dues. Trying to find a fax number. Where are their local union stwearts? Are you expected to travel to Texas to file a grievance? Where do I get a grievance form to fill out? Why won't the AFL-CIO web site link to this so-called union? Don't they know what a mockery this is of a union? Can anyone tell me if any grievance has ever been filed with the local 277? From the sounds of it they need union stewarts badly. If you feel you have been burned why not call and mail a letter. If you get no results complain to the real AFL-CIO. They have a web site.
