Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
My husband and I had to move very quickly for my job. We did not have any time to plan so we went with the cheapest company. We received a quote for a 3 bedroom house for 2500 lbs. We trusted their quote because we obviously have never weighed our stuff. The quote we were given was $1400.00 and we had to put a deposit of $500.00. So we used them because it was almost as expensive as a U-Haul. They told us that they would be there Fri-Sat and they showed up Thurs. They quoted us 5-7 days on the move.

We received our stuff over two weeks later. We had to rent furniture for two weeks, and on top of that the quote we were given was way off. The actual weight of everything we owned was over 5000 lbs and the actual cost of our move was over $2800.00. This was obviously a problem.

We called and talked the people that gave us the quote. They basically told us either you pay of you do not get your stuff. They would not tell us why we were so misquoted and in the end they told us to call the Better Business Bureau. We did they had 734 complaints filed againtst them.

Do not use this company!!!!!

I am the victim... Do not let them bully you

The last rebuttal listed on this site is definitely not me and I am sure it was someone from the company... However it was not Berman that did the move. It was Tigert Moving, but I do not hold them responsible. They were the ones that actually informed us that National Moving does this all the time. They quoted us 2500 lbs for a three bedroom house and Tigert told us that they have seen one bedroom apartments for that weight. Tigert also informed us that National Moving Network just tells you what you want to hear to get your $500 deposit. Then they are no longer responsible. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY... They did not even give me a contract. I did not even sign a contract. Do not let them bully you I was not aware of my rights untill I paid my $3000.00 to Tigert and now there is not much else I can do I am however trying to get my $500 back.

My Mistake ..EDitor's NOTE: this was not posted by the victim! and they give a bogus e-mail address

Berman Moving & Storage was not the company that did the pick up.

I have searched my paperwork but cant find the name of the company that was contracted to do it. I was mistakingly looking at one of the many quotes I received before my move and thought it was Berman moving.

I will try to see if I can find out which company it was.

MOVERS AND SHAKERS..... cheaper (quote) might not always be better

#6Consumer Suggestion

Shawna, the movers pull this type of stuff a lot. I would do everything possible to make business hard for them-(just think for a while, I know some things will come to mind) Even something as simple as a little bumper sticker, saying "##### movers SUCK!" is a nice little start...

When it comes to these kind of places, cheaper (quote) might not always be better (sometimes they need the business THAT BAD.

Make sure you pay with a credit card if you can- then reverse the charges -(the only thing a credit card is good for)

Good luck!

Which company did the move?

#7Consumer Suggestion

National Moving Network is a broker. Do you know the name of the company that actually did the move? Check you paperwork and see if you can also find a DOT number and an MC number. If you post this info, I can help you figure out where to write complaints to. Where did you move to and from?
