Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I've never imagined that those weird things can happen to us - me and my husband. Last week on Thursday I received the phone call from Mr. Henson - NCO's employee. My husband wasn't at home because he is working recently almost 20 hours a day so Mr. Henson decided to talk to me.

After asking me if I'm the wife he has gone straight to the point and just told me that we have a 8543.43 debt to pay and how I'm going to take care of that. I was in a shock and I didn't know what he is talking about...at first I thought that it's somebody is calling as from a bank because we just bought a new car and maybe they have some offer for us to refinance our loan. Well, definately it was not our bank. At first he tried to intimidate me with all those questions but I put myself together and started to ask about this debt trying to verify what's going on.

He told me the original creditor name and account number and that this account was opened in 1994. I told him that we have never had this company's account on our credit report and we've never received any letters from them and he probably made a mistake. He said he is looking at my husband's credit report and that is suprised we got a home loan but he was absolutely not authorized to check my husband's credit report? I guess they do not mind brake the law. He insisted that we have to pay and how we are going to do that. We finish out conversation because I did not know what to do and I told him my husband is going to call him back.

Well, he was very busy and he didn't so I had to talk to Mr. Henson on friday and monday but this time I was prepared. I checked my rights and what information he has to give me in order to verify the debt. So as soon as I started ask the questions he became irritated, asked for my husband, didn't want to answer any of my questions and finally wished me a nice day and hang up on me. But I called him back and ask about the original creditor - any address, phone #, fax#. He said he doesn't have it...:)and if I want any phone # I can find it in phonebook. So I did, I called the company and verified that they do not have this account and they are going to send me a letter so I can prove it just in case.

Today when I called Mr. Henson he didn't wanted to talk to me and didn't want to give me NCO's address so I could send the letter to them. He also claimed that he sent us several letters. We have never received anything. But I found NCO's phone #, called them explained what happened and they said that we do not owe them anything and we shouldn't be called, this was simply a mistake. Thank you for a mistake like that.

Hopefully they removed our phone # from their list and will leave us alone. I'm 9 months pregnant and on Friday I'm going to the hospital for a C-section and those few days really stressed me out but on the other hand I'm glad I did my investigation and could end this nightmare. But I guess nobody is going to call us and apologize. Lady that I talked to just said that it was a mistake and she's going to remove our phone # from the list.

I realized how easy is to get scammed and if you do not investigate and educate yourselves you can really pay a high price. I encourage everybody to fight for their rights and check everything carefully. Now I'm going to make a complaint to the TX and PA General Attorneys and BBB and maybe sue them.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business?
