Heidi, You MUST have proof that you sent your CEASE COMMUNICATIONS request. This means that it needs to be in writing and should be sent by certified mail, return reciept requested. Be sure to put the certified # on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records. This procedure is very important as it proves exactly what you sent. FYI...You cannot file a report "with the FDCPA" as you stated. The FDCPA is a law/regulation, NOT an agency. The governing government agency for the FDCPA is the FTC, and they do NOT do individual enforcement. You can make your complaint online, but it will only be kept for statistical use and possible class action use. It will do nothing for you personally in this case. See my other many posts on how to deal with these bottomfeeders. Got a fax machine? That is my favorite! Otherwise, you need to get a lawyer and sue them for your rights under the FDCPA at your own expense up front.

They called my sister-in-law who lives 2000 miles away from me. I don't know how they got her cell phone number, but they did and I don't even know it. I told them to not call her again. I will just send a certified letter telling them to cease and desist communication with me and my family. If they don't, I'll just file a complaint.
