Okay so i think everyone deserves a fair warning about this company I worked for this company for about 6 months last year in 2009 for the summer. This company deals with real estate advertising folders. First and foremost YOU WILL NOT GET PAID. I remember working there and every day all of us in the office had to tentivley ask the boss if we would get paid today. They NEVER have any money and will promise they will pay you but only after you ask 10 times and refuse to do any more work until they pay you.



At the begining it seems like a great job it is a small office but the company makes NO money at all. You cold call businesses all over Canada and the US to set up advertising appointments so a high pressure sales man can go in and get peoples money for advertising that many many have complained does not work. Here are some of the worst things about this company that I think it is essential for anyone to know who is getting "hired" there



1. If you do not get appointments or make sales you will be fired and quick



2. There are 3 owners and all 3 are always clashing in management styles. The "head" everold is a nice guy but trust me dont think that means ur going to get ur money. The second ryan is a playboy who was constantly checking out girls, talking about facebook etc and the third who is the WORST and you seriously need to beware of is Corey. He will make you want to kill yourself. I cannot tell you how cold hearted he is and how he will crush your spirits. He made everyone in the office very upset many times. He is deceptive and manipulative, when you first start he will be nice but as the days go on his colours will change.



3. Sometimes they hire you when they dont have a deal for you and therefore you will be stranded for weeks as an "employee without work"



4. Training is only paid if you are there for 30 days so if u decide to quit at day 29 or get fired you will not get paid for that period



5. It is a commission only based job therefore They TELL you that you will make 1500+ every 2 weeks but this is a COMPLETE LIE most weeks I only made 300 dollars working there a week and thats only if you beg them for it



6. they will make you feel guilty for asking to get paid and wil defer it to next week



7. Seriously watch out for Corey. He is very unprofessional Many times when I took a 15 minute break he would give me the silent treatment. My last week at the company he gave me the silent treatment for the entire week because it was tough to book appointments



8. They are seriously heartless and have a very very quick employee turnover. Most people quit



9. Ryan and Corey are very unprofessional. In addition they share employee-employer confidential conversation information with other "trusted" employees who will ofcourse come back and tell you that they are discussion you in a horrible way



10. They will minimize you, call you names and talk behind your back like teenagers.



I hope this list helps some people. I have been hearing a lot about the going ons in the company and i feel it is my right to inform potential employees about what they are getting into because if i had known i would never have worked for them. By the time i found out all this it was too late in the summer to look for another job so I had to stick it out and it was rough



The other employees there are nice people though and it is fun to work with them. They all band together as a force united so you are not alone. Recently I heard that 5 employees quit at one time and all the sales reps have quit as well because of the huge amount of money they are owed. So i know they will be hiring and I hope someone gets to this before signing up with them



I am not a disgruntled employee in fact I enjoyed the people there a lot and thats why i stayed. But If i could go back to that time in my life I would have never never taken that job. I was one of the few people that got the total amount of money owed and only after 8 months of leaving the position. Within the 6 months there I only made the 1500 dollar commission amount ONCE and neither of my collegues did either. It was struggle and it is depressing to work there



Also, Corey will always tell you that he does give 2 s*its about your personal life but he brings his entire personla life into the office. You will see dating sites open and him flirting with women in the next cubicle loudly. There is no openess between employee and employer, in fact sometimes it seems its a bunch of inexperience kids running the company. There are no incentives, no rewards, no company outings.



Expect to always have to come in a half hr early and not get paid for it and if you do not you will have to have multiple conversations enclosed in their offices. Expect to have to stay an hr after your shift as well. It is a tense enviornment I will say that. When i worked there many of us were afraid to go to lunch or break. We whispered all the time because we were scared one of them might snap. It was the desperation of work that kept us there.



So please take this as a warning against them. Many of their employees are now going to the labour board. Since i dont work with them any longer and have no personal gratitude/happiness for which they could stop me from writing this I am. I wish I had written it sooner. The worst is probably how they demean you and tell you "Well we could have hired anyone we wanted, You guys are spoiled brats, We're going to fire you"



They promise big things but dont deliver. I learned my lesson "if it sounds too good to be true then if probably is"

UPDATE TO THIS POST! THREATS OF SUING FOR DEFAMATION

Hi Everyone!

I would just like to take a moment to update this post i made long ago. The new development is that this company has decided to threaten many many ex-employees with a pending law suit. I feel it is important to update this post honestly and fairly. They have stated in their letter they are suing for reviews about the company ex employees have written on job sites. At the time I could not help but compare the company to a much more successful company such as McDonalds. When was the last time you heard McD;s suing employees for rating their entry level jobs on a site such as rip off report? I would like to thank the owner of this site for his support and help in the matter.

I will be keeping this posting updated from time to time with new developments. Everyone deserves to know whats going on. I would just like to say that defamation is if the statements are untrue but all these statements are 100% correct. An opinion abotu a company or individual is not defamation.

My plan? Well we shall have to see what the future holds only God knows not me. IF ofcourse I do get sued I shall keep this updated and work through it.I would also like to contact some media outlets as I think this story and its developements could be of use to other people if they happen to find themselves in similar situations, and contact my local MP and other public figures. I refuse to stop speaking the truth however as bullies are meant to be stood up to. I will not live my life as a coward. Life is a journey as many wise people have said.

Other than that I just want to mention something I read online from someone from ripoffreport that resonated with me for weeks "The good companies will post a rebuttle on the site, its free, they will try to fix problems find solutions and defend themselves, bad companies will sue"

I have read other reviews on the site where owners/other employees or admin defend companies. And I must say that I am always amazed by those companies and how strong they are and how well they fight for their companies. Therefore I know anyone reading my first review is not stupid and will take my advice with a grain of salt not a blind eye. I am not responsible for the actions of others, it is my duty as a citizen to inform others of my experience with a company that I  wish i had been warned against

Personally if i was looking for employment at a certain company and saw that they had a bad review on ripoffreport but were posting and trying to resolve/get to the bottom of issues or get better in their operations I would not hold the review against them. Again though I would not reccommend a position at this company especially after this new developement but again it is a personal choice for anyone to make and my opinion

I stumbled upon your report a few days ago and have a few words. I have read your report on the company several times and have also invited my assistant, secretary and ther agents in my office to have a read. At the end of reading your post for the 3rd time there was a light applause in the office. We would like to thank you for writing this report now many people would have the guts to do so. My staff and  have first hand experience to the misery this company has cost out office. We are in British Columbia but are connected through the wrongness of this company. I am a boker not an employee and signed a contract with the company in early 2009 I'm not sure if you were there at that time. We have all agreed that a company that does not treat their clients with respect and proper service cannot be expected to treat employees properly either. As a business man I am shocked that someone could not pay their employees, respect them or care for them. I treat all my employees and agents like family. We work hard and succeed together. Perhaps that is why the company could not pay you, what they put out will come back. In the 30+ years of being in business I can attest to that.

I am sure there are many others like you, and i hope as you said people do research the company before signing their name to a contract. Please read my review when it is posted on the site I will be encouraging others to write reviews as well. I hope your experience with the company has not soured you view of the real estate business. I would be delighted if you respond to this rebuttle and if possible I would love to speak/meet with you to discuss this company and the implications of dealing withthem.
