NETSPEND RECOMMENDS USING A VPN THEN, FREEZES YOUR ACCOUNT FOR DOING SO!

Monday I called your Company and after waiting patiently for over 30 minutes I was handed off to someone named Johnathan in the Risk Management Dept. who refused to give his identifier [employee number].  Johnathan began by asking me if I had used a VPN to log into my account.  He also said that my account was frozen earlier this year for using a VPN.  I told him yes I did, I used a VPN this morning - and at this point I was disconnected [He hung up!].  Even after confirming who I am and that I was the one who logged into MY ACCOUNT with a VPN my account is still frozen.  I guess when you cannot be clearly identified as a discourteous employee you feel free to screw with your customers.

I have had this VPN service almost as long as I have had your service [or lack thereof] and as you recommended at https://www.netspend.com/blog/8-ways-to-help-protect-yourself-from-identity-theft-and-keep-your-information-safe/ [or see attached] and it’s only NOW that I am being told that I can’t use a VPN?  I have had this account for over a year and a half and only now am I being told that if I use a VPN  then my account will be frozen without notice and without recourse.  WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?

To put it in simple terms that even you can understand – If you don’t want us [the customer] using a VPN then just say so.  No problem, no drama, no unfulfilled expectations.  Certainly no irritated, pissed off customers like me.

It's apparent only now that the real reason my account was frozen earlier this year for a whole 2 months, without explanation, is because I unwittingly used a VPN.  The person who insisted that he was unable to verify my phone number also insisted that my California driver’s license, birth certificate, SSN, employee state and federal tax statement W-2, 1095 health coverage statement, as well as all of my state licenses - gun, guard, baton, chemical agents were not enough of an “identification".  No, he insisted on an image of my social security card - which is not an ident cation and never was.  No one in law enforcement here in the United States will accept a social security card as identification and neither should you.  But I forget – you’re not in the United States are you.

Here is what I expect from you in the next 24 hours:

1. Restore my account in full.

2. Apologize for freezing my account earlier this year.

3. Refund the monthly charges for the 2 months I had no access to my money again – earlier this year.

4. Apologize for freezing my account on Monday 07-28-20.

5. Send my in writing your written requirement that a VPN CANNOT be used on your website without the obvious consequences in contradiction to your web site already listed.

If these expectations are not fully met then I will be contacting the FDIC, the Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the State and Federal Attorney General’s Office, the California Dept. of Consumer Affairs as well as anyone else I can think of with a copy of this letter of complaint.  I will also be contacting topclassactions.com who has been successful in the past at holding your companies feet to the fire – economically.

I tell people all the time: "I am NOT a Proctologist and not in the business of helping people with a cranial extraction from their own rectum."

Sincerely Irritated,

P.S.  By the time you read this email it will already be posted on RipOffReports.com
