Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

We live in California, and hired Nic Baliva owner of Premier Food Trucks who was out of Reno, NV to build us a coffee truck. We bought a truck which he picked up and took to his shop. We paid a $16,145.69 deposit. We made an appointment to meet him and go over the truck and the plans for it. We got almost all the way through the 4 hour trip when he sent an email that he wouldn't be there, but his helper would be. He would not answer our calls, and when we got there we found a COMPLETELY empty shop, other than our truck. His helper was a cabinet maker that didn't even know what kind of truck we were building, and knew nothing about plumbing or electrical so he would not have been able to do the job. Mr. Baliva wouldn't answer our calls. We found out he actually lived in North Carolina, and found an attorney of record who we contacted. At that point Mr. Baliva contacted us, we had a phone conference where he apologized and assured us we were back on track. We made an appointment for a second meeting, again drove 4 hours one way and got there and he wasn't there. He sent his employee down to open the door so we could remove our truck from the property. The landlord was there, and told us he was being evicted, and after calling around we found he was evicted from his prior shop space also. We posted a review, and had someone from North Carolina contact us that he was scamming. We found out there was an investigative report done on him because he was scamming so many people in NC. We contacted the reporter, and she did a second story after so many people came forward after the first one.

Since this has happened, he still has not refunded our money. His latest letter said he was suing US. He has scammed over $100,000 from various people in 4 states, and even ripped off his kids PTA for $600. Somehow he is still roaming around free and has not been jailed.
