Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I purchased a vehicle from Oak Motors on 38th St. about two years ago. The entire time I had that vehicle the service engine light was on. I had the vehicle in their shop around 15 times for the same reason. The issue was a cylinder 3 mis-fire. Evertime they fixed the car it would take between one day to three months for it to act up again. It finally got to the point that no one knew what they were doing and I had to take it to a higher authority within the company. At that time (2wk. period) my car was in the shop twice. I finally got through to someone that there was a major issue that was never going to get fixed. So they allowed me to trade in the car. At first they made it seem that they were doing a huge favor for me...and all the others they did this for by trading in the vehicle. There were major problems with the numbers when going through the financing part of the experience. They told me they were going to wipe out the old car note and some maintanence charges for the issues in fixing the vehicle. Well that did not happen when we sat down to close. They added the maintenance charges into my down payment. This is where the story gets good. When getting my car I expressed my concerns with the appearence of the vehicle. The car looked like it had not seen a clean look in a long time. I asked them "how do you expect me to pay 15,000 for a car that is dirty on the inside?" They responded by saying they don't use chemicals, but would send it to the back to get a wipe down. So two days later my service engine light came on and I was going through the glove box to get the book to my "New" car. I found papers that belonged to the "old" owner. This information had her address, phone number, social security number, and all the sales information on it. I was furious. Not only did I learn that they had me for almost 3,000 more than she bought the car for 6 months before, but I learned that I just got swindled. They made this deal seem as if they were doing me a big favor. Not only did I lose out on the money invested in my other car, but now I am out more money because I am paying more for this car that is having major problems after two days. I have had nothing but troubles with the cars I get from Oak Motors, and now I am upset that they jacked the price up on me but not the person before me. I called the other individual who had the car before me and she stated that she took the car back because it shook real bad and didn't want to start the next day. Did I mention that the salesman who sold me the car tried to cover up that issue. He started the car and it died on him, so he started it up again and pushed on the gas peddle to keep it started. He didn't think I was paying attention until I asked him about it. Now my car wont start unless I push the gas when I start it. I don't know what I am suppose to do. What legal ground I have...or if I got stiffed and should just let it go?

Thanks for the info. After filling this report and complaining to the highest people I could find I was then offered a great deal. I was given the opportunity to walk away from the car and car payments with no strings attached. And that I did. Tiger...the owners son I guess got tired of listening to me. There were a lot of situations that I did not mention in my original report, but I guess what I did mention was enough for him.

I now am a proud owner of a brand new 2009 with only 147 miles. I paid less for that then what I did for any car offered to me through Oak Motors. I would never reccommend them again to anyone.

My question to you is how did they know where you were at?

I purchased a vehicle from Oak Motors on 38th St. about two years ago. The entire time I had that vehicle the service engine light was on. I had the vehicle in their shop around 15 times for the same reason. The issue was a cylinder 3 mis-fire. Evertime they fixed the car it would take between one day to three months for it to act up again.

It finally got to the point that no one knew what they were doing and I had to take it to a higher authority within the company. At that time (which was 2wk. ago) my car was in the shop twice. I finally got through to someone that there was a major issue that was never going to get fixed. So they allowed me to trade in the car.

At first they made it seem that they were doing a huge favor for me...(and all the others they did this for) by trading in the vehicle. Made me feel as if I was the one trying to get something for nothing from them.

There were major problems with the numbers when going through the financing part of the experience. They do not write anything down. Makes me feel as if thats to cover their tracks while they are trying to get you for any and every dime they can! They told me they were going to wipe out the old car note and some maintanence charges for the issues in fixing the vehicle. Well that did not happen. When we sat down to close is when they started the smoke and mirror game. They played me from the beginning. They added the maintenance charges into my down payment. Some loop hole they made up!

This is where the story gets good. When getting my car I expressed my concerns with the appearence of the vehicle. The car looked like it had not seen a clean look in a long time. I asked them "how do you expect me to pay 15,000 for a car that is dirty on the inside?" They responded by saying they don't have to clean the cars and they also don't use chemicals, but would send it to the back to get a wipe down.

So two days later my service engine light came on(and I had only owned the car for two days) and I was going through the glove box to get the book to my "New" car so I could understand what the light ment. I found papers that belonged to the "old" owner. This information had her address, phone number, social security number, and all the sales information on it. I was furious. Not only did I learn that they had me for almost 3,000 more than she bought the car for 6 months before, but I learned that I just got swindled again.

I called the previous owner and found out that the car did the same thing to her...so that can't be the reason the jacked up the price. She owned it for one day and told them she wanted her money back...and she got it.

I am furious because I feel that they have (to a degree) discriminated against me. For several reasons. Dont ever trust Oak Motors and the lies they feed you. None of them work their because they care...they do because it involves nice BONUSES!!!
