I attended a timeshare presentation on 11/4/13, Mr. Sweeting Apex's International marketing Sales Director and 1 other sales rep made the presentation  for an ownership timeshare with RCI.

I sat in their office for over 6 hours listening to the sale pitch. My intention was never to sign the docs until i research and learn more about the company. After my 2nd attempt to leave the office saying that i would need to research and think about it, they offered a 3 day cancellation without any cost to me. Meaning I would have a full refund, for the full amount charged to me if i choose to contact them within the 3 days to cancel the package. I agreed, i signed the contract. After 6 hours I was exhausted, i signed all docs given to me. The following day after reading/ researching RCI's timeshare and discussing this with one of my family member i decided to cancel. I contacted their office  (also sent a written email) late in the day to notify them that i wish to cancel this purchase. They continue the sales pitch,making additional offers, i told them that i wasn't interested in this purchase and requested that they reversed the total charges. Two days later, they email me saying that based on the written contract (with my signature) the cancellation was not fully refundable. I would be subject to a closing cost fee of $1590. They said that they can only go by what's written in the contract, not what was verbally agreed upon. This has been an absolute nightmare for me, what they agreed to verbally was not written anywhere within the contract. I filed a claim with the credit card company Barclay RCI, they have said the same thing. They can only go by the written contract.

Hi.  Please update your current status of this situation

I have a similar situation with Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club, LHVC, and Barclays RCI charge card.

I aslo was told that the membership contract wouyld be destroyed if I were to cancel within the allotted time frame, which I did, but are now being held resposible for the closing costs and services recdeived at ridiculously high retail costs.

I am willing to pay for the services rendered but at a reduced costs; the costs I would have been charged while I was vacatioing there through a member.  However, they are charging me at regular retail costs.  I have been debating this with them for some time now.

In addition, they are trying to hold me to the closing costs as well.

Please advise on your current status of this situation.
