Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

This is hands down, the biggest scam and worst excuse for a "business" to be associated with. Stay FAR away from any interview or job employment with a One Source Marketing or anything associated with the owner, Thomas Hart.

Let me tell you about the time I spent as an "employee" at One Source. First off, a girl in a super high pitched voice called me hours after applying for a position (first red flag), and after asking a few quick questions, told me the director (Thomas Hart) would like me to come in for an interview the NEXT day. (another red flag...they're desperate) After going in for an interview in an office that looks like they just moved in a week ago (another red flag). I was told in the interview that I could be making thousands of dollars in just a few months in their "management training program". What they don't tell you is that you will be an independent contractor and ALL OF THE MONEY YOU EARN IS 100% COMMISSION.

This "business" does not offer any benefits either.

I'm ashamed to say I worked for this company, but thats why I am hoping to warn anyone else thinking about joining this "business". On my first day a work, a co-worker drove me around the Chicago area and we went door to door/business to business to sell make up. Two guys selling make up door to door is not what I signed up for.

Every single day you will be going DOOR TO DOOR to sell MAKE UP. - Make Over Essentials to be exact. Sometimes it's not even door to door you just go up to random people in parking lots, or really anyone that will listen to you. It is considered soliciting, which is 100% illegal especially where signs are displayed stating so. They even teach you how to hide from security guards in malls, so you don't get kicked out for soliciting.

You will not be in the office everyday, you will only come in to the office in the morning and will come back at the end of the day to give the boss a portion of the money. Yes, that is right...it is set up like a pyramid, so your boss gets a portion of every dollar you make. And as does his boss, and so on and so on. You have to drive your own car around and you are not reimbursed for gas from the company. They tell you that you can "file it in your taxes" at the end of the year. But in the meantime, you have to pay for every penny of gas. Sometimes you will drive to the next town over, sometimes you will even drive as far as Wisconsin in hopes to find a territory that hasn't been visited yet.

Every employee in his office is oddly similar. Almost everyone is young, in their twenties, and white. Oh, and Mr. Hart also got a girl in the office PREGNANT. Yes, you read that right. She is probably at least 7 months pregnant at this point. The young girl can't be older than 21 years old. He will tell people in the office she is his "fiance", to cover it up. But I even asked her (Aubrey) myself one day and she said they're just dating. I don't judge if someone has a child out of wedlock, but the irony of the situation is that Mr. Hart makes every employee sign a "non-fraternizing" contract on their first day of work, stating they won't have any relationships with any employees in the office. Point is, Thomas will say a lot, and none of it is true. Actions speak a lot louder than words, and he is the epitome of that.

I also did some extensive research into this company after witnessing some odd behavior, and found that they were formally CHICAGO STORM INC. Funny, someone else wrote a very negative review on them, which you can find here:

This company changed their name solely so their reputation could be saved. But don't be fooled, this is the same company. They simply moved offices, and are now located at 2015 Spring Road in Suite 230 Oak Brook, IL. If you ask them about the bad reviews, they will say that it's a "tough" business and not everyone makes it so thats why they have bad reports online about them, but the truth is, we as employees found out the real truth and need to tell others before it's too late.

If you ever have an interview in this office, just turn around and don't waste your time. Further research also revealed that their "director" Thomas Hart is convicted of a pretty horrendous crime. Which you can also read here:

The articles speak for themselves.

This company was probably one of the best companies I could ever ask to work for. Yeah, the business is hard but in my first round interview, I was told I would be doing sales business to business and talking to a bunch of people everyday. I don't know who did your interview but it sounds like you are just bitter for either not making it or getting let go. Not sure which one.

I was offered a base pay of $500 and if I didn't make that in commission Thomas ALWAYS covered the rest but I normally made between $600-700 a week so I was never worried. He is probably one of the most genuine guys I have ever worked for and he tells people straight up how it is, and if you don't like it then that sucks for you. You probably aren't cut out in the business world anyways. From what it looks like from this article, you are someone that was handed everything you ever wanted in life and are probably upset you can't find a job now.

Also, about the article, he obvisouly isn't that guy anymore. He cares more about his reps than most bosses care about their guys. I just hope you understand that bitterness and slander isn't the way to go through life but as a former employee, I would reccommend working for this company because even if you don't see yourself as an owner, like myself, I learned more in the 3 months I was there then I learned in my 4 year university.

I hope you grow up someday and learn to deal with not getting things handed to you.
