I am so frustrated with Palisades Collection, for so many reason, for one I have NEVER had an AT&T wireless account.

Last year I had received two bills, one stating that I own them $2,578 and the other was for $241. I called Palisades to let them know this is a mistake these account are not mine. I let them know that I have never had AT&T for my cell phone carrier.

I also told them that I have never received a bill from AT&T about these accounts. I ask them to show me the contract that had my signature on it, and of course they said that they didn't have that information.

I got copies of all 3 credit reports, and course Palisades Collection LLC, is on my credit report. It's driving me crazy because I am young and I trying to build my credit and I can't because of these accounts. I have put in so many disputes with the credit bureaus, and they all come back stating that the account has been updated.

Trying to call Palisades is a joke. I just sent a certified letter to them. I did receive a call back, but it went no where. They told me that my account is in the dispute department and that I should call them. I explain to them that, I have tried to call them so many times and got no answer.

So can someone please give me some helpful advice as to what I should do to get Palisades off my credit report?

Thank you, to anyone that helps me.

Fair Debt Collection / Fair Credit Reporting

Check www.ftc.gov for information on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA") and "Fair Credit Reporting Act" ("FCRA") for more information on how to proceed. Last year I spent several months fighting inaccurate and outdated information from my credit reports. Write the company a professional letter to have the signed contract or any identifying information showing that you, in fact, owe this company money. Cite the various sections in the FDCPA & FCRA to show that you know, and to remind them of, your rights. If they cannot send this information to you, they MUST remove any negative information from your report. Send these letters certified mail, return receipt requested, so that you have a paper trail you can use as proof later. Simultaneously, submit the same information to the credit bureaus for removal; reiterate that this account is NOT YOURS, that they have provided NO PROOF, and that the credit reporting agency ("CRA") is also responsible for keeping your credit information accurate. In addition, contact AT&T themselves and ask them to provide you with the same information. It is ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS best to deal with the creditor themselves--whether or not you actually owe them--than any collection agency. Unfortunately, many collection agencies will take your $$ but not remove information from your credit reports or notify the original creditor that you paid, so you may still owe $$ later. The worst of this process is that you always have to give them 30 days to research, so it can be a long waiting game for each letter. If, after all your efforts above, you get no where, go to your local police department and file an identity theft report. Get a copy of this report and send it to the CRAs. When I was fighting this one listing, no matter what I said, did, or requested, it was not removed UNTIL I filed a ID theft report w/my local PD. Once that was sent, it fell off immediately. Good luck! :)

You are not alone

By no means, are you solo on this type of credit issue problem. Go to budhibbs.com and you should be able to find the info you are looking for. You can email him or call for information. Palisade is ranked one of Americas worst collection agencies. The website should also be able to tell you how to handle the credit bureaus. He has helped many people with the same problems you are having. If this account is not yours and the bureaus are still reporting it, they are in violation. I'm sure you already know that, but Bud's website can point you in the right direction, and give you solid advise. Hope this helps out.
