I join Jeff from Surrey B.C. in the statement that this dealership is completely corrupt without any scruples what so ever. All they want to do is get you to sign on the bottom line and they will say anything, and agree to anything to make sure you do.

My husband called ahead and asked them if he could see a mini van they had advertised. It was close to the end of the day so the sales rep MIKE said he would stay open for my husband, Jeremiah.

Jer arrived and looked at the van and thought it looked in great shape and began talking to MIKE about buying the car. Jer said he wanted to test drive the vehicle first as well as take it in to Canadian Tire for a pre-purchase inspection. MIKE said Jer didn't want to do that as he had a VW bug completely destroyed at Canadian Tire as they were all amateurs. Jer said nothing fully planning to take it into be inspected before purchasing.

MIKE said in order to hold the car at the price they negotiated Jer would have to leave a deposit. He stated that if for any reason Jer would like to back out of the deal he would push the "refund button". Jer left him a $500 deposit and signed a pre-purchase agreement.

This was what tipped us off. After Jer signed where MIKE put his x's MIKE went through and stampled "NO REFUNDS" and "CUSTOMER ASSUMES ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPAIRS" as well he answered "unknown" to the question as to whether the odometer had been tampered with.

The next morning I called and said we would be coming by to test drive the vehicle and take it into a mechanic and SHAWN began yelling at me. Saying this was not part of the deal, it was a "straight sale" etc. I knew we were in trouble.

We backed out of the deal and tried to get the deposit back. Of course MIKE denied his conversation with us.

BUT THERE IS HOPE.

We are filing a complaint to the Registrar of Motor Dealers, Consumer Services, Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (PO Box 9297 Stn Prov. Gov't, Victoria, B.C. V8W 9J8 phone (250) 387-5433) Every dealer must contribute $300 a year towards a Motor Dealers Compensation Fund.

Consumers who have suffered a loss "as a result of dealership business failure, dishonest conduct, or failure to provide a clear title". The registrar will refund any money up to $20,000. As well if money is refunded from this fund the MOTOR DEALER LOSES HIS LICENSE!!! Jeff from Surrey if you are out there follow this through!

As well it is a straight forward case in small claims court for the following reasons. It is illegal for this dealership to collect a deposit for a service/item they did not provide. As well a oral agreement takes precedence over anything you may have signed.

SO FIGHT BACK!!!

Call the Registrar of Motor Dealers and get an inspector out to look these slime artist over. Close them down.
