I have a date of service for October 3, 2012 didn't get my first bill on this til April 2013. My first bill said I owed the amount of my bill on a certain date so basically I had like 5 days to pay my bill, but there was issues with it. The EOB I got from my insurance said I owed nothing not even a co pay, because the doctor was not covered but there was no doctor on it, and they got another EOB saying I owed that amount because it was not covered by insurance. So I called insurance to explain why 2 different rejections they only had my rection on file not what Patient First had so insurance called them on 3 way to discuss the issue. The lady at my insurance said you need to submit the bill with the doctors name or its going to be rejected. The lady at Patient First kept saying that we just bill under Patient first because we are an urgent care place and all of them bill like that. As a patient and work weird hours I have never seen an urgent care center bill under the faculty name. Even quest bills under a doctors name. Insurance lady told Patient first there has to be a doctor that treated her. We need that doctors name. So they put a month hold on my account. Hasn't even been a month since I called and I got the bill the other day in the mail and there is a late fee on my account for the same date of service and they have yet to send it to insurance. The lady on the phone just told me o we are behind that is why and the month hold you had on your account was lifted because its been a month. The late fee was added to my account on 5/25/2013. I know I didn't all them on April 25th. She put a 45 day hold my account because the billing people are behind. How behind can a department be when all they have to do is add a doctors name to the claim. I also thought when I called I am calling the billing department?? I thought this was fixed the first time I called. I guess if I continue to get billls I am going to claim fraud because they cannot seem to rebill the insurance company that shouldn't take much time at all.
