Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I have had horses in training with Patrick Billes for a while. He has exhibited some very strange behavior as of late, and I will no longer recommend him to anybody looking to work with an honest person. I also do not recommend him to haul or transport your horses. I will rush past the fact that Patrick's training program does not follow what is on his website, especially if you have nice horses (they somehow magically become "his" horses). He has very poor organizational, business/accounting, and communication skills. I have worked with some "crazy" horse trainers in the past, but Patrick has by far been the biggest disappointment to me. I agreed to let Patrick take my horse to a competition in Calgary, Alberta, Cananda. The competition ended Sat, Nov 1st. When the following Tues rolled around and I hadn't heard from Patrick, I texted him asking when my horse would arrive home. He told me there was a delay at the border, they were laying over and be home Thurs PM. That sounded suspicious to me. I then found out from others that after the show in Calgary, he was transporting horses to Thermal, CA. I also noticed on FaceBook that he posted pics of himself and his girlfriend vacationing in CA the day after I inquired about my horse's whereabouts. My horse eventually returned home (not exactly sure when) and was removed from Patrick's care. There were 5 days at least where I had no idea where my horse was. He never told me what he was doing in CA with her nor did he tell me that the CA trip was connected to the Calgary show. I had no idea he was even going to CA in the first place. I certainly could have met him half-way to pick up my horse, saving her from a 3000 mile joy ride after competing hard for 2 weeks in Calgary. Now for the safety issues Patrick violated. According to my veterinarian's records, my horse was not up to date on vaccinations required for such travel. The veterinarian who prepared the Health Certificate/Coggins test for Canada was also unaware that my horse was traveling to CA afterwards. Technically my horse should have had Health Certificate/brand inspection/vaccinations specifc for CA. I suppose Patrick thought he was going to be fine as long as he didn't get pulled over? Only my horse knows what facilities/show grounds she frequented, Patrick won't tell me. Even worse, maybe she was just left tied in a trailer for 5 days while Patrick was vacationing? My horses are the reason I get up in the morning. It makes me physically ill to think about this incident. Very disappointed. Important thing is that my horse appears to be unscathed from this unnecessary road trip and she is safe from Patrick ever doing something like this to her again. Patrick, there are several of these reports on you from different people regarding different issues. Take notice and learn from them. You are never going to make it in the "real world" treating people and horses the way you do.
