Patrick Moody - Lone Wolf Masonry Rebuilt brick fireplace claiming he stands behind his work - just call if any problems -not alot he doesn't about masonry Clinton Maryland
Hired to replace old stone interior fireplace with brick one. I removed the old stone one. Claimed he knew everything there was to know about masonry since he had done since a little boy and had 22-25 years experience. His multiple ads on the Wash Metro Craigslist said he "stands behind he work." He said if I ever had problems just call and he would fix. I asked when I could build a fire - he said wait 5 days. I checked internet and it said wait at least 30 days - I waited 45 days. First fire resulted in several face bricks cracking in half on either side of the lentil along with numerous mortar joints cracking clear back to the wall. Called him to get him to fix - initially, he said I must have hit it with a big hammer. I sent him pictures. Then he said I must have started the fire with the damper open and that that caused high pressure! Fact is he didn't allow space for expansion of the fire box, the steel lentil and the cast iron flue damper. Result was expansion due to heat didn't have any place to go. Said he was coming two times to repair, gave me date and times but never showed or even called. Now refuses to answer phone calls, or return my calls or emails. Also paid to have chimney masonary cap replaced - he replace half of it. Plus he did no clean up when he was finished with job. He over ordered mortar mix (said 7-8 bags and it took 3) plus under ordered fire bricks by 25. Doesn't even have a pickup - I had to pay extra to have materials delivered to home.

Note - I did NOT take the lowest bid. He even raised cost by $400 once he had started too plus didn't do all the work he had agreed to. Changing names in ads doesn't add to his creditability. How long do you think I should wait for him to "stand behind his work?" He stood me up 3 times and its been 5 months. Not even a courtesy call to say something came up. I could care less about American born -I'd just like honest, professional worker with integrity. I'm out $2500.

Hello, just wanted to say that I have been a satisfied customer of Patrick Moody for over three years. Pat is a very hard worker. He help me to build a pond and a patio. Everytime I am thinking about something else to do in my yard, the first person that I contact is Pat. There will always be unhappy customers, for what ever reason. Look up companies like Verizon and Apple PC. I would recommend him to any of my friends for brick work. If you are looking for "American Born", professional school trained, then he is the person to hire. If you are looking for a big job with a cheap price then hire the other person, however, I use to do that, then later had to have everything replace because they could only do quick jobs and move on never to hear from again or could not find anymore. Pat does stand by his work.

Has revised his Craigslist ads for doing brickwork and now uses the name Nenny with a new cell phone number of 240 605-0951. Email from him comes from either [email protected] or [email protected]. These both turn out to be adult porn sites in Washington DC area.
